Question about Philips Magnavox 32PS55S 32" TV

Geometry settings all wrong

I am looking for the option bytes and geometry settings in the SDAM menu for this TV. It has a chassis model of 32T800 7629. I have tried the internet for over 4 months now and cannot locate a service manual. Very frustrated with the service I am receiving from Philips. Will likely be the last TV I buy from them.

I wish I could help you but you will more than likely have to take your set to an authorized service center. Philips doesn't like to send service manuals to anyone except their service centers. Stargazer

Panasonic 29 crt tv problems with the geometry

If there is a picture geometry problem, you have to check its Pin Amp section circuit inside the circuit board for any damaged component/s. If this section have any fault, the picture geometry will be distorted. Before adjusting the picture geometry after entering its service mode settings, you have to check this section first. If you want to know how to enter the service mode option window to this set, check this link.

Ajusting didnt convergenced in the corner of mitsubihi tv

Have worked on a lot of these sets. A number of possible reasons:

1. Slightly damaged convergence IC.
2. Someone has in the Tech menu tampered with the green which affects corners and geometry of the picture---not easy to correct in most cases and usually is bottom corners but can be top.
3. A problem in the Digital convergence block which includes caps and or the 3 chips for memory.
4. If only a single color will not adjust there(look at green first to see if grid of lines are straight---red and blue are adjusted to green and if green off may not be able to line up with it.
5. If large sub woofer near it on side affected move it away---if its been there a while may be magnetized -=--rare.

What I would do is go into Tech menu or customer menu and call of the grid of lines (advanced in that menu) and carefully look at the area affected.

If one whole side will not adjust--chip bad most likely= if just a corner geometry off.

A lot (almost all) were adjusted for Geometry with a special unit at the factory and it can be nearly impossible to correct even in the Tech menu which can be accessed with a 4 number code and the original remote---advantage there is it SAVES adjustments to memory of the set for this.

Number code a specific one for each model group.

If need the numbers for yours confirm model number as I have a list of them available.

I finish by saying if need more help or have a better description let me know.

What are the default geometry values for 480P and 1080i FULL modes?

If you have the model listed have fun----Geometry values are depicted in the Convergence section---the grid of GREEN lines determines geometry and red and blue are then adjusted to the Green.

Primitive: Set had at one time two overlays available--clear plastic you attached to screen to line the that Green grid up against---one for 480 and one for 1080.

Once the geometry is set (best possible) you must align convergence and save it in both the modes one at a time.

By current standards a Fred Flintstone system--but in its day a real pain as alignment can take many hours with the correct remote via the tech menu for convergence.

How do i unlock the key--- display on my Provision television that is operated by a beko 12.1 remote control.I also need the service code for some Geometric adjustment.

Service Menu Access Procedure To access the service menu, press and hold the handset sound mute button whilst pressing the TV's front panel 'Menu' button (under the front panel cover on the TV). The up/down channel buttons on the handset step through the options and the left/right buttons change the data values. Turn the TV off to get out of service mode and DO NOT touch any other handset buttons whilst in service mode. Service menu access is also similar for many other Toshiba large-screen TV's so this procedure may work on other Toshiba TV's - even those sold outside the UK.

Maybe this list can help you, click here for a list of each widescreen Toshiba TV Service Menu adjustment with details on the purpose of each.

The factory settings of each service menu option will be entirely different on every TV manufactured, due to component, tube and scan coil tolerances, so don't under any circumstances adjust your TV's settings to my factory default settings or your TV's picture will probably look awful! The factory settings are provided out of interest - the useful part of this document is actually the definition of each service menu option. You will see that some geometry settings are duplicated for each screen mode such as 'Cinema' and 'Subtitle'. This could, for example, help resolve a geometry problem that's present just in one screen mode.

I hope help you with this.
