Question about Navman 3450 GPS Receiver
Hi Guys, If you can help me with this I would be forever grateful. I have a navman 3450 that I have had for 5 years. I am very much attatched to it. Reciently I was in hospital and the device ran completely out of power and all the navman software was erased. No big deal because I had all the softwate and I just reinstalled it. The Problem is I dont remember the comm and baud settings for the gps status page. I thoought the comm was 2 but none of the combinations seem to be working. I just keep getting "no gps data" If you guys know how to fix this I will gladly pay if thats what it takes. Thank you, Jason Whistle PS Im unfamiliar with your service. If the guaranteed answer will def get this thing fixed I will gladly pay.
The correct baud rate etc settings are 57600, 8, N, 1 (ie 57600 baud, 8 bit, no parity, 1 stop bit). You can verify this and see other details of specifications at www.fingertech.co.uk/gps_navman_3450.html or www.pocketgpsworld.com/navman3450.php
The other thing you may have forgotten that you need is to install the Navman driver - unless you have done this, you will get a "card not recognised" error when you slide on the GPS sleeve. This driver, version 3.1.6, can be downloaded from the Navman website.
I don't think you need to set the COM port number as a number, rather you select the Navman driver and it automatically knows which COM port is associated. This is COM 6 on my setup, but might vary between devices?
The other thing that some GPS software requires is to know the "type of GPS receiver" - this is "Other NMEA"
