Transferring pictures/videos with the USB cable 1 Turn off the camera. 2 Plug the labeled end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer. 3 Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on the camera. 4 Turn on the camera. Note: EasyShare software opens on your computer. The software prompts you through the transfer process.

First download the latest drivers for your camera, then turn camera on, then hook to USB. (camera screen will look black) while it is hooked to pc. Then transfer your pictures or sync device with media player
You can transfer photos from your Olympus c-4000 camera to yourcomputer without installing any software by removing the memory cardfrom the camera and pluging it into a card reader connected to your computer. Thepictures on your camera will be shown in windows explorer as aremovable storage device.
Ifyou don't have a card reader connected or built-in to your computer foryour memory card type, then try connecting your camera with the usb cable, and your pictures will show up in windows explorer as a removable storage device.
You can transfer the pictures from your camera by setting the USB Configuration to Disk Drive in the Setup Menu.
I suggest you to reinstall the HP Photosmart software from Software & Downloads on www.hp.com.
I don't know in which country you live (this is helpful to know!), but in most stores offering cameras and many offering electronic items, you should be able to procure a kit of adaptors that will include a cable to use with them.
In the US at least, Wal-Mart, Best buy, Circuit City and Radio Shack are likely sources.
Elsewhere (?) you are on your own.
1. use a (usualy supplied) data cable... normaly a USB cable... it connects to your computer/laptop , Use a Photo utility program to "find" the camera. You should be able to view the pics stored in the camera.
2. If the camera pics are stored on a sim card then simply put that card in a multi card reader... (very inexpensive to purchase and standard on some late model PC's) and in most cases you can pull the pics directly from the card.
3. Take the camera directly to walmart or walgreen's photo station and they usualy can pull the pics directly from it.
give me some more info and I maybe able to give detailed help...
mod# of camera and what model/make of your PC.
Do you have the base the Easy Share sits on and is onnected to your PC or are you just using a cable? If using docking base and the software is installed correctly you just set camera in base and press the button. Although even sometimes mine doesnt work right so I treat it as though it is just plugged into my PC via a cable.
Dont plug in camera to usb cable yet. Open Windows explorer and when you see your various drives like c: , d:, for hard drive and CD/DVD than plug the usb cable to your camera. The camera might need to be turned on and plug the power supply you charge the camera with in as well. Once you plug in the usb cable and you see removeable disk ?: pop up that will be it. You than right click that new drive choose explore and keep dbl. clicking the folders until you see DCIM. There you should see the picture files. In your command bar at top of windows explorer choose view and make sure Thumbnails is checked and you should see previews of your images. You can than use the option on left panel to copy to destination or just choose select all or ( ctrl-A ) that will highlight all files than drag and drop onto a designated folder on your c: drive, or right click copy or cut and than paste. dont remember but if still having problem make sure camera power switch is on. I have same camera so if still cant get it message me back or call. 559-930-9688
