Check to make sure your disc isnt scratched. Otherwise clarify what all you were running in the background, if you had any hangs when this occurred. Could be a bad read on the reader (DVD/CD-ROM) or bad disc, or a processor hang that lost information during the install. Could try to clear it out and try another fresh install. Good luck :) I'm sure there are others who may know more...that's just what i've done when i've had bad loads on programs from disc.

The disc is most likely dirty or scratched. Make sure there are no noticeable scratches or marks on the disc. Remember, when cleaning a disc, always wipe from the middle outward.

Sims 2 won't install

the games install cd is dirty, clean it so it can install that file when you install.

clean with a soft material cloth by cleaning centre of cd inside to outside not in a circular motion but from an inside to outside straight strokes, use a little bit of water(dampen the cloth a bit)then after cleaning dry completely with a dry soft cloth to prevent scratching, happy gaming!!

Can't Double Deluxe install past 60%

Then a file must be corrupt on the disk. Go to the store and trade it in for a new one if it isnt too late. Or try cleaning it very good.

The disc is bad, you can not use this disc.

Or, may be your drive is dirty, try clean it up using CD drive cleaner.

Also may be the disc is not clean, clean it up using damp clothes to remove any dust or finger print on it.
