Question about Marley Electric Hydronic Baseboard Heater, 58" 240V/1250 Watts

Open Question

Have installed MD26 Line Voltage thermostat Heat comes on when turned on and won't shut off. If temp is turned down just enough to turn off, it never comes back on. Wiring seems correct.

SOURCE: marley md26 line voltage thermostat

The Black Wires from the md26 are your load(the heater) and the red lines are your line(power). The lines are also paired up on the thermostat with a red and black on the left and are red and black on the right. In the actual heater connect the black to the black wire and the white to the white and connect the grounds. In the thermostat connect the black from the heater to left side black( remember there are pairs left(black, red) right (black, red) and the white to the right side black connect the black from your power to the left side red and the white from your power to the right side red. Should be ready to go.

Whirlpool dryer overheats element high heat all heat settings

First check the heating element for short to frame. If it is not shorted remove the filter chute and clear it out. The control thermostat has 4 wires. 2 small wires come from the timer and power up a small heater inside the control thermostat making it shut down faster for perm press and knit cycles. Over time this bimetal inside the control stat won't shut down fast enough or not at all. If it won't shut down then the element will gl;ow reed and the base 250 stat on the heater chamber will shut down. If it fails to do so then the smaller one up top will trip at 300f. If it fails to trip or the filter chute is clogged the fuse skinny white plastic thing next to the control tstat will met and shut down operation.

We installe da T8011R Programmable Heat Pump Thermostat approximately 2 years ago and two weeks ago, the a/c unit began turning itself completely off (blank screen and all) several times a day and night...

If the screen is blanking out that means that the 24 volt power to the thermostat is being disrupted.
The most likely cause is a safety switch on the secondary condensate drain line. This means that the primary drain line is almost totally clogged and that the condensate backs up enough to trip the condensate overflow switch. When it shut the system down (blank thermostat) this allows time enough for the condensate to slowly drain out and the safety switch resets itself. Clean out the primary condensate drain line (hook a shop vacuum to the line where it terminates outside and sucks the gunk out of it), this should take care of the problem. If it does not then you may have to get an a/c technician to professionally blow the line out from the air handler and possibly clean the condensate tray out in the air handler.
Hope this helps.
One note: If the safety switch was properly installed then the system would shut off and never come back on until the drainage was corrected. Yours is obviously not installed properly.

The heater does not stay on long enough to heat my garage. it will come on for 3 to 5 minutes and shut off. it comes on again in 5 to 10 minutes for 3 to 5 minutes again. the heat is good when it runs....

You could tripping the high temp limit this will be located near the heat exchanger When it shuts how long does the blower motor stay running? Do you have a meter?

I have a Lennox model CB19-51-1P air handling unit with HP19-511-1P compressor heat pump unit. I just turned the heat on for the first time this season. And I am getting low heat volume. The heat pump...

first thing you need to check is if the reversing valve is working you maybe running your A/C with the heat strips on depends on the t-stat your using some heat pumps will bring the strips on with a high degree difference in setting and room temp .

1- turn t-stat to heat set temp 10 degrees above room temp if you have a programable t-stat it will have a time delay on it allow to for the outdoor unit to come on 2 to 5 minute usually .
2- walk around to the outdoor unit when it comes on feel the big line the insulated one and see if it is hot or cold let it run for a 5 minutes peel back the insulation and gently grab the line with your hand it maybe real hot so be careful if this line is hot then your heat pumps is working mechanically and if it is just warm then you may need the charge topped off

there are so many different option's from this point i will need to know the findings of this test first thanks : Michael

Rheem RHQA Heater:Blower works but no heat.

Is there a setting on the thermostat for Auto or Fan? If so, make sure it is in the Auto setting. You will have a contactor that turns on the elements and a relay for the fan. Follow the wiring diagram to see which relay energizes the fan then unplug it to see if the fan stops.

Air conditioner will not turn off, thermostat keeps showing temp inside getting higher, cool air is coming out of vents

Is there a heat source close to the thermostat, plug in transformer for a phone mabey, table lamp? If not then you have to have a bad thermostat. Any possible heat source from inside the wall? Will it shut off if you turn the system off? Turning power off to the furnace will shut everything down. If no heat source is driving up the indicated room temp, replace t'stat.

Whirlpool gas dryer- Series MK1159224

Just a quick thought...make sure that your gas shut off valve is ALL the way open.
In answer to the thermostat question, if the thermostat has completely failed, (open circuit) you're correct, there would be no heat at all. The thermostat contains a tiny heater, controlled by the heat select switch, for instance, if you set the switch to "low heat" the thermostat heater will turn on, applying heat to the thermostat, which means when the main heat turns on, the thermostat will cycle off quicker, because although the air temp may be, say...120F, the thermostat is at 160F. So, that being the case, you could possibly have a problem with the temp switch applying voltage to the thermostat heater constantly, and excessively. Or, the thermostat could just be cycling too quickly. This could be tough to pinpoint exactly without taking some voltage readings with the machine running....one way to check the switch is to remove the two small wires from the thermostat, (leave the larger wires on) and see if it heats properly, that would mean the switch is bad. Please remember to unplug and verify that there is no voltage with a meter before messing with any wires. Hope this helps narrow it down....

Will not shut off

Sounds like a stuck relay on the unit itself. Maybe there is a short in the control wire that comes from the thermostat that activates the fan.

The thermostat probably has one hot wire at all times. The thermostat then chooses which wire to send the voltage down based on your selection. One of those wires is probably for the fan only. Make sure that it is in good condition (no bare, pinched or wires)
