If you attempted to add to the system, you most likely
added some air into it also

Unless you have a vacuum pump & can leak test,
evacuate the system & recharge yourself, you will
have to pay someone to fix things

SOURCE: 2000 FORD ESCORT AIR CONDITIONER BLOWS BUT COOLS ON AND OFF

Hi Elena,

Get the wiring checked for the compressor also some of the ford escort sedan model had the push button for the compressor and rotation for the blower. Sensor is only for the speed variation of the blower if i am right you should have the three speed blower switch on the dash board. if it's just blowing and not cooling just push the same button and check it should start cooling.

thanks

Have a nice day!

SOURCE: My 2003 Ford Explorer air conditioning is not

Your system is low on refrigerant and needs some more R134. Go to your local parts store and get a recharge kit which will come with a can of R134 and a hose to connect the can to the system. The fitting on the system will be on the passenger side of the vehicle, under the hood. Follow the instructions in the kit and you should be ok. Don't add more than you need to get the a/c blowing consistent cold air. Too much refrigerant can be just as bad and ineffective as too little.

Why the compressor, air conditioning clutch be clicking in and out?

if on and off consistently [short cycling ] the usual cause is low or short on freon others are low pressure sensor switch -or clutch failing but the usual problem is freon level

Assuming it doesn't need freon added it could be a bad high or low pressure switch. When the ac is on does the air conditioner pump clutch cycle on and off?

2000 pontiac grand prix ac problem

If the compressor is working, a mechanic would check the low and high gauge pressure.
The freon has to flow thru the system to work, and the cooling fan draws air thru the condenser to get rid of the heat from inside the car.
If the ac clutch is working but the gauges show equal pressure, the compressor may be faulty.

AIR CONDITIONER

Could be a list of things including low on freon, low pressure switch, relay, or the a/c clutch on the compressor.

A/C not cooling

Feel of the large ac line going into the firewall, and see if it is cool,or cold, also, the condenser could be restricting flow threw it,on the inside,we really need gauge readings for low side, and high side to diagnose the problem.

AC blows cool not cold, checked freon seems to be

I dont know how you can check it for being full or not? but most likely its low. If you have it on, and high speed like 2000 rpm and the a/c clutch goes on/ off in a few seconds, the refrigerent is low.

I have a 2002 Ford Mustang. My air conditioner is not working properly. It blows into the defrost when I take off and when I let off and go a steady speed it blows out cold. It blows hot air sitting at...

if it never comes out face vents then u have a door actuator motor not working ,,if it jumps around letting off throttle then it is a vacuum problem vacuum under hood going into the firewall needs to be checked,,and vacuum resovoir might have hole in it if it is vacuum cantrol,,,the reason for warm and cald temp changes is probley not enough air flow threw radiator and condenser this will rise the high side and low side heating up the freon and it cant cool the freon down enogh to get col air ,electic fan not coming on would cause this or fan clutch (if it has one ) would also cause this .look for fan relay not working ,also did u change accumilator and dryer? ,also may have blockage in condenser i hope i shed some light on the problem

Air Conditioniong not working

U may be low in Freon gas.
When Freon is low there's low pressure switch that will prevent A/C compressor clutch from engaging to protect it from failure.
So, first check Freon pressure & any leaks form lines & hoses fittings.
Even if the fan is working, that doesn’t indicate proper compressor OP'S.
Look at the compressor front side you'll see the clutch stationary while the AFT pulley moving.

Then put air-condition compressor switch to ON (Engage),
You should see the clutch engage & start rotate,
If NOT, this is very clear indication u r low in Freon.
