Do not lay down ,,,, oil from compressor will get into the lines and mess up your system ,,, be safe and haul upright and wait 5 minutes after setting in place to plug it back up / larry

Yes you can lay them down. Some modals call for 24 hour reaping time before you can plugin to run. Reaping meaning some modal have the new R134A coolant in them so if they lay down wait 24 hours before use. Gas you can just lay then down and brace it so it can't move around.

Moving my fridge on it's side or at an angle

You can lay it down but if you do, when you stand it up, wait 24 hours before you plug it in to turn it on. The reason is because the oil in the cooling system has to settle after being layed down.

Can you move a magic chef refriederator on its side

It is best not to lay a refrigerator on its side. The compressor oil along with any contaminants will flow up the tubing and when you plug it back in, this can damage the compressor. If you must lay it down let it sit upright for a while before plugging it back in.

I am moving and need to lay the fridge on its side, but have been told you cannot do so, is this correct?

You do not want to lay that refrigerator on its side because the refrigerant will leave the compressor and fill the system with liquid refrigerant where it should only be existing in a gaseous state, and if the refrigerator is tilted far enough over or lay-ed onto its side then the refrigerator will have to stand up-right and un-plugged for at least 24 hours before the liquid refrigerant will settle back down where it belongs, and then the refrigerator should actually function again if there was no other damage caused when moving the unit.

The best way I know how is to remove the ice box to the yard and lay it on its side preferably on the back of a pickup truck. Then use shop air to blow it out. A shop vac and a Whisk broom will work fine . When you lay the ice box down take care NOT to lay it down on the side that would allow oil to run into the freon lines as this would cause blockages in the freon lines. When you are finished allow for any oil in the compressor to run back down in the bottom, in other words wait an hour before plugging it back in.

Carry refrigerator laying down in an SUV

The reason that it is not recomended to lay a refrigerator down on it's side is because of the oils in the compressor.

When you lay the refrigerator down on it's side the oil can get into the lines and cause problems.

because you have already done so, stand the refrigerator back up and let it sit for 48 hrs and give it a try.

If you half to move a refrigeratror on its side, the best thing to do is inspcect the compressor and see witch side the main lines come out and lay the refrigeator on the oposit side as not to allow the oil to get in those lines.

SELL TV: HOW DO WE MOVE IT

Howdy,
The best way to transport the TV is standing up with the front secured to a 'side' of vechile. If you don't have that choice lay the TV down on it's face. With both make sure you have plenty of moving blankets. The side would be my last resort because of stability. DO NOT LAY ON BACK!!!!

Good Move, big IRISH.
