My mp250 is taking the paper in sideways and I have looked and the rollers do work. What could be the cause and am I able to fix this problem myself?

oh dear, Never spray lubricant or anything other than air into a printer. I presume when you say "sideways" you mean "skewed".
If so then you have an object in the paper path that will cause this.

Let the machine try to feed the paper then when it jams VERY SLOWLY pull it back out. No look at the leading edge of the paper for a nick in it. The nick is caused by the paper hitting an object. Now lay the paper on top of the paper that is in the feeder. Look at where the nick is. Now refer this to the machine so you are looking into the machine in the position of where the nick is. Shine a torch into the feeder and you should hopefully see the foreign object and try to remove it with an opened paper clip bent into a "L" shape.
Good luck.

Hi my name David and I to have the 2400, my paper wont feed throu and when it does it goes throu none stop, with out printing I need help please.

I had the same problem with my R2400, it was the feeder mechanism and was fairly easy to sort (for me anyway). If you look in the paper feeder area there is a grey roundish wheel in the bottom right hand corner (looking from above and the front). It often gets dust and fluff etc in and around it and therefore fails to feed the paper through correctly. Try cleaning it with a rough-ish cloth (like a dry flannel etc) - this worked for me.

Alternatively what can also work (as I discovered myself prior to solving the problem) was having a stack of paper in the machine. I.e having multiple sheets in the paper feeder also seemed to solve the problem.

I still get the issue occasionally but it is far less prevelant.

HTH :)

When printing the paper is not drawn down straight - pulls to one side - and then becomes jammed. This has happened over and over. Is there a wheel or something of track - can I fix this myself. Thanks...

There could be something that's blocking the paper feed system. Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area.

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside for any debris.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris that could cause this error or problem.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power outlet to reset it.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again.

The paper in the rear tray is getting pulled in crooked, therefore the paper sometimes rips on the side and the image is not straight. I tried running all the printers tests, and I even found many posts...

Had the same problem myself , ONCE. You have to make sure that the paper is completley straight in the feeder. And make sure that the sheet holders are at the right size, ie, Close to the paper, well not close but touching.
You may also have something else in the sheet feeder. Took me a week to sort my problem found out that a pen had got slipped into sheet feeder.
Hope this helps..

Could you please let me know the Brand and Model of the Printer? I can't even assume myself which brand since you haven't hinted anywhere. Let me know so that I can try, if fortunate I might have fixed this model or similar models.

Thanks.

CLX-2160N does not correctly pick up paper from

Hi
If it is new then you should return it for the guaranty if not...
It is a common failure in printers, mostly laser printers which are used more frequently! there is a part underneath the paper feeder roler/drum, which is like sand paper. It stops excessive paper to be dragged in by the feeder, using friction! By the time, this part gets worn out resulting in more papers to be fed by the feeder! you could get the part from a replacement-parts dealer of your printer brand or try to fix it yourself ;)
I myself tried to make it less slippery by scratching it with a nife and/or a screw driver, with temporary positive result. I think you could glue a bit of sandpaper on it which should hold a bit longer!

The copy paper feed misaligns and jams, what's the fix? Jack

to fix misalign and paper jam problem, follow this steps.

Load one or two sheets of unused plain white full-size paper into the document feeder tray, and then press Start Copy Black to pull the pages through the automatic document feeder. The plain paper releases and absorbs residue from the rollers and separator pad.
NOTE: If the automatic document feeder does not pick up the plain paper, try cleaning the front roller. Wipe the roller with a soft lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.

If the problem persists, or the automatic document feeder does not pick up the plain paper, clean the rollers and separator pad manually.

Follow the steps below to clean the rollers or separator pad.

1.Lift the cover of the automatic document feeder. This allows access to the rollers and the separator pad.
2.Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with distilled water, then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.
3.Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off of the rollers or the separator pad.
4.Close the cover of the automatic document feeder.
This should solve the problem. Cheers!

Its most likely to be the pickup roller and separation pad which will need replacing. as a short term fix try cleaning them with some isopropyl alcohol
