The belt may have broken which spins the washer or it may have come off the track.

Thank you for your post, Tom Lau!

I see that you are having a difficult time with your Frigidaire washer, FAFS4474LW, taking long a time to complete a cycle and not rinsing the clothes out enough. This could be a possible problem with your sensor or control panel on your washer. You may want to perform a reset on your washer to help clear out any miscommunication within the washer. In order to perform a reset you would need to flip the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with your washer after the reset I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional. This will help you to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Best of luck! -Matt

Front end washer not washing or turning all u hear is the motor what causes this to happen

Hi Arthur Williams, this is AP! Thank you for your post.

I understand you are having trouble with your front load washer not spinning, but you can hear the motor. There are many situations that could prevent your drum from spinning. Overuse of detergent can result in too many suds restricting the tub from turning properly that will not spin out. Is the washer making a humming noise? Try putting the washer on spin only, if the drum will spin then it could be kinked hoses, if not it could possibly be the motor or the door lock assembly, timer, pump, control board not communicating. I would recommend having a technician come out to diagnose your front load washer. I hope this information proves helpful for you.

Thanks,

Wasing machine stops spinning during final spin - 3 or 4 minutes into the cycle.Frigideaire front end loading washing machine.

You could be using too much soap that will cause the machine to go in oversuds motor protect and shut down . Do make sure you are using HE soap and only about 2 to 3 table spoons per load .The next most likely cause would be the door lock but I think you have a soap problem..Good luck need more help please ask Thanks for Voting

I have a Bosch washer, model number WFK 2401 that washes and rinses, but suddenly won't spin. It just sits and counts down until the end of the spin cycle and then signals the end of the wash cycle as...

I just had the same problem last week Aug 1 2009
on our WFK 2401 purchased in 2001

If you hear no motor spinning when it should then it's something
with the motor. If you hear motor spinning, esp spin cycle, but
the drum doesn't spin, then probably broken belt ($30 part).

Since I work on cars (this is very much like an alternator+belt) and wanted to avoid a $100 service call (just to come to house) and
at least try for a quick fix before buying a new washer, I opened the back, confirmed belt looked ok, so tried
replacing the brushes in the motor, and it worked.

For a good description on how to do this see
http://dossy.org/2007/05/lots-of-miles-on-our-bosch-wfk2401uc-washer-motor/
I took some pics, and time permitting will post more details
to this dossy site to help fellow owners.
I purchased the brushes at partstap.com for $50 (incl tax+ship)
