Question about Whirlpool 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Electric Range - White-on-White

Oven too hot!!

My oven (Whirlpool 30" self cleaning free standing) is about 5 years old. It suddenly started burning everything I try to cook because it is providing too much heat no matter what temp (high or low) I try. My husband tried to figure it out, but to no avail. Any ideas???? Thanks a lot!! Carol

Thanks so much for the advice, but that didn't seem to be the problem. I just can't figure out what it could be. We got an FOEO code and unplugged the oven for 30 minutes (as suggested by another thinking it might be due to a power outage) but even that did not work. I have no clue! Thanks, a lot!! Carol

Sounds like a bad oven temp sensor, small 3-6 inch, metal probe in upper left corner of inner cavity, 2 screws and the sensor should pull right out, replace you should be fine

Double oven no model number Whirlpool 14 years old Door is locked after self clean and display is blank

Hello,

Your oven has resetable high limit thermostat that tripped off on the self clean cycle,im not sure if you have free standing,or a wall oven if freestanding the t-stat is on back panel if wall oven its behind control panel on upper oven and for lower oven its behind the grill between bottom of upper oven and top of lower oven. In either case it has a small red button that can be pushed in to reset it

Hope this helps and if it does please give me 4 thumbs up

I have an older whirlpool free-standing gas range and oven and the broiler works but the bake option does not, the oven doesn't get hot, any suggestions?

you may need to replace the bake ignitor. if it is glowing orange and not white, it isn't hot enough to light the bake. hope this helps

My oven is two years old and the bottom oven coil will not heat up. The top one works just fine but not the bottom.

you may have a burned out bake element even if the range is only a couple of years old. if you can see the element look for a burned area. if you can't see it you will need to unplug the range and see how to get it out yourself or call a repair service. hope this helps.

I am looking at buying the new hidden heat element

It sure can. Whirlpool has some wonderful appliances and their ovens have a very large capacity for your Thanksgiving turkey or what ever you cook. The best of luck to you and enjoy your huge new 30" oven.

I have a Whirlpool electric build in oven with self-cleaning feature. It is about 8 years old and we just used the self-cleaning feature for the first time last week. The oven was not that dirty, but...

Your thermal fuse or TOD mounted to the back of the oven went out during the self clean,it shuts off the power to the elements.
The oven must be removed from the wall to change this.
