Many products have HDMI incompatabilities causing this symptom. I recommend hooking up with component cables instead for much more reliability and comprable picture.

Element flat screen HD

If this set is like a polaroid (the entire chassis pulls out after removing the 3 back screws) you have definately a need for a mainboard. Shop Jimmy.com has the entire assembly for sale at last check. It is possible to use a polaroid chassis and only difference is it will say polaroid instead of element at initial startup. The prices may be hi but it is your decision weather to fix. EXPERT-TECH@LIVE.COM

Turn tv on. green light solid display, no picture or sound

The flashing green light is likely indicative of a self-test failure, indicating the TV has detected some sort of internal fault. With no picture or sound, one strong suspect is the power supply. Flat-panel TV's have an internal DC power supply that converts the inbound AC current, and when these fail, or are unable to supply a minimum level of power to the set, it can behave as you describe, providing only enough power for the green light to illuminate.

T-Con or video board going out 5. Factory reset? I hope someone has a solution fo this.

Could be a pulsating power supply problem. Get a techo to look at it before it gets worse and more costly to fix or replace.

Hd stations only show on part of the screen

Welcome to the world of HD programming. What you are seeing is the different aspect ratios that the movies are filmed in. In some respects there is no fix for it just something you have to live with.

I have vertical stripes (yellow, clear, blue then green) covering my entire screen. I have a Hitachi 50v720 HD tv. Help anyone?

T.V may have been magnified. Something magnetic too close to television will fry the screen per say. There are repair people with demagnifiers but doesn't always work
