Why after driving car stopping & starting car radomly loose power

While driving my car (97 oldsmobile achieva) for 45 min. to hour after stopping at store I notice when tring to restart the vehicle after cutting off the car its hard to crank and stay running my engine hesitates when pressing on accelerator hard to keep running the engine radomly lose power and cuts off. I try to restart the vehicle it want crank, after letting the car sit for hour or so the car will start right up with no problem. The check engine light is on

I started my car and all the lights on the car just stopped working. The power locks stopped working too. But the car runs fine

The first step is to find out why the check engine is on . you can take it to autozone they will check it free and tell you the promblem is.

I would go to to autozone or advance and run and obd 2 scan. this is free so you can see what codes are coming up. I hope its not your alternator

Suddenly loses power no noises coolant light and temperture light comes on

probaly lost fuel pressure, from fuel pump going out, or relay went out. Need more info such as, did engine stop running completly, or did it start back up etc. post back please.

Belt came off 97 achieva how is it put back on

to replace drive belt rotate tensioner pulley clockwise then slip on new belt look under hood on the radiator shroud for drivebelt routing diagram.check drive belt tensioner for damage or looseness because very seldom drive break either cracked worn or drivebelt tensioner faulty.

I doubt it.
If the engine is cranking, the starter is working.
If the engine will not start, you need to know if you have spark at the plugs, fuel pressure at the injectors, and normal compression.

needs more info dose water boil after awhile or as soon as you start the car or do you have to drive for awhile
here are some thing to check. check and make sure your fan are working then check and make sure you do not have any leakes in the coolant system
