Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My series 600 kenmore will not wash all others work

Washer fills then makes a slight buzzing noise, hot electrical smell will also start if left in this state. All other parts of the wash cycle work, rinse, spin etc. Could this be the selector switch?? If so how do you replaceit? Or should I say get it out.

Should get some one to look at it. If there is a hot smell could be a short someplace.

Kenmore 600 series washer

if the water fills up and starts have a burning smell, to me it sounds like the agitator motor is bad. Which would be the next part in the washing sequence.
That's the best I can make of the description

Kenmore 70 series washing machine making screeching noise

If both things have something to do with one another. It sounds like a bad motor. When you removed the coupler, did you notice if the part that goes over the shafts might have been cracked. If one is, it will spin on the shaft. But the motor keeps coming up when I read your description.

Series 70 fills wit water stops then makes a slight buzzing sound

The electric motor my have failed or a part called a capacitor could be the problem? The capacitor is part of the starting circuit of the electric motor, if this fails the motor will not start therefore the washing machine won't spin or agitate.

Kenmore 70 Series will not load hot water

It sounds like need to make some voltage checks on this job. When you set the fill cycle to hot & start the machine do you hear the valve buzz? If you do then the valve is causing the problem.

Kenmore washer 20712 series 70 will fill but nothing else

Check at the back side of the motor to see if it turns freely. If it does, your motor is bad. If not your gearcase is frozen (bad). Hope this helps!
