This is a common problem on older RCA projection tvs. There is a small power supply that powers the convergence circuit and that is what usually fails causing this issue. The model # will help you get the correct part. If you open the back of the set, it is the power board mounted above the convergence board (above the board with row after row of heatsinks). There will be a red and black wire that drops down to the convergence amp.
