Question about RCA P46924 46" Rear Projection Television

No sound I have a RCA P52960 Home Theatre Priemiere Rear projection TV. Was working just fine. Turned it on one night to watch and there was excellent picture but no sound. Any suggestions?

There is a switch on the back of the tv that has internal and external speakers slection i would check that especialy if you have hooked up any new componants

I think my speakers are blown on my sony 53 inch rear projection tv can I run the sound through my home theatre and bypass the blown speakers?


check your audio menu on your tv. mine can turn off the speakers and sends the audio signal out the rca's when the speakers are off.

First check to see if your tv is on a fixed mode also ( if you have this feature) make sure your speakers are turned on , you should be able to access these in your audio settings, on the tv. If that does not work try unplugging your tv wait 5 min. and plug it back in. All else fails buy a receiver and hook up your audio that way.

Sounded like a light bulb burst...


Sounds like a capacitor blew or the Flyback has shorted. Does the power led light up when power is pressed?

Rear projection tv broke


try resoldering the vertical output IC. This is a common problem the tubes blank out but sound and on screen displays still work 90% of the time its the solder connections on the vertical IC that causes it.
