Brookstone MyLife Digital Picture Show

I got Brookstone digital picture frame for a Christmas present and just recently it stopped working. It goes through the boot cycle and then a message comes up that the file is not supported. Yet if I connect the transfer cable to the computer, I can see the pictures.

I contacted Brookstone and was told that without an original receipt I am out of luck. (This is the second electronic product from them that crapped out on me and will probably be the last).

But I would like to get the picture show to work again if possible. Please help.
