Question about Singer Featherweight 132Q Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Quit working I was sewing and the machine just got slower and stopped altogether. I oiled it throughly and plugged it back up, turned it on and it wouldn't do a thing except the light worked.

The 132Q ahs a problem in the hook drive gear ,this is where it is seized up ,happens all the time ,from the back of the machine you can add lubricant to the hook gear and shaft but you will probably have to grab the gear with pliers etc and try to turn it once it loosens up it will be fine ,do not look elsewhere this hook drive shaft is the source of the problem.

Husqvarna sewing machine freezes and stops sewing

Is it a mechanical machine or computerized? If mechanical, it could need a good cleaning and oiling. Mechanical machines need to be oiled, and if not, the old oil solidifies and prevents the mechanical parts from moving.

Singer Touch-tronic 2000 makes loud humming/buzzing noise, stitch selector lights quit working, needle bar stopped moving.

Sounds like you've got a thread jam going on in the bobbin case area. Good cleaning and a new needle will probably fix it. See: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091202121550AAHxN8y

Feed dogs won't move

No info on the sewing machine make or model. It sounds like something is binding up, is bent, or is tangled in the machine. Look around the front and back of the sewing area for a switch to lower the feed dogs.

Good luck

Baby Lock bl 5280ED runs and gets slower and slower. Replaced motor and foot control and oiled throughly. The problem persists. I can see no visible cause for the motor laboring after running less than...

The problem is likely the stitch length adjustment cam. You will need to remove the cam. The cam is located on the left side of the machine (there is a screw under the plastic arrow cap) also remove the cam sleeve (looks like a steel bubble wand) resurface the sleeve until the cam turns freely, oil with sewing machine oil (NOT WD40!) or lithium grease. reassemble machine and adjust timing.

My sewing machine starts sewing good and then it seems to

Providing the machine has been oiled if the machine is still running slow then the chances are the motor is on the way out.

My white superlock 734dw keeps dropping the 4th thread!!

It may be that your presser foot is not alligned with the cutter. This is the problem that I am trying to solve now. My presser foot is not lining up with the blade and it does what yours do. ok then nothing.I have changed the needles and cleaned it and oiled it. I have taken apart the foot and assembled it and when I put it back on it wont allign to the blade and the book is NO HELP at all. I won't pay for an answer but when i get it i'll lpass it on to you. OK.

Machine wont move

I just found out that if you still have the bobbin winder on, the machine won't turn at all. So make sure that you have the winder slid over.
