Fuse blows when I plug in my Gibson oven/stove

When I plug in my Gibson stove/oven the fust downstairs blows out it does not matter if I have a 30 amp or 20 amp fuse it sparks at the wall and blows fuse out, I can not see any obvious defects with cord I am wondering if there is a fuse inside the back panel that could be blown?

SOURCE: Oven fuse blows - Nothing works

try lifting the stove top assy and checking wires under main top, leading to the elements them selves??? if tis tripping and not allowing to reset its gotta be an obvious short. isit hard wired directly to stove or into a 220 cord and plug???id look again, perhaps remove entire back panel and have someone trip on the breaker you might see where it flashes as it trips off

SOURCE: My Fridgidaire FEF366BCC just popped my breaker

This sounds like a main control problem. More specifically like one of the relays is shorted. You will need to acess the main control and carefully inspect it for any burn marks. If you don't see any disconnect the main power supply wire going to the main control. Then plug it back in if it trips the breaker the problem is in the power cord or wiring from the cord junction to the main control. If it does not trip the breaker the problem is the main control. Some stoves have an override on the oven side... oven pilot light must be lit or it will go to safe mode. if it is an auto light then check the fuse usually located up by the top left side on bk of stove.

Amp fuse keeps blowing

The component being protected by the fuse is drawing excessive current - has to be a board or something because the motor always draws more than three amps. Check the units schematic for locating the possible offending board. Must be relatively new since you indicate it is multispeed. Still under warranty?

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

1984 stove, fuses located on the top of stove/ 30amp keeps blowin

It sounds like the element has a short in it. unplug the range, and take the element out and inspect if for burn marks. check the wires going to the element to make sure they have not shorted.

Frigidaire gallery stove, oven not working,

Morison,
The same thing happened to me about a week ago. I was preheating our electric oven, heard a very loud bang/pop. Checked and the oven had PF (power failure) I went downstairs and the breaker was tripped. Came back upstairs and to look at stove, the burners are working fine so I continued to preheat oven after a half an hour the oven was only slightly warm. Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Stove oven wont work..

Yes, you can use the Eaton Viking element in place of the Gibson element as long as all mountings are the same.
You should use ceramic washers between the element and the casing to prevent it from grounding out...which is what probably happened to the element in the first place.
Be sure to look for chapped or burnt wiring BEFORE replacing the element. Also look for burnt connectors.
Hope this help you! :)
