hello is sound like 1 of the capacitor or transistor have blown. the fuse is located in the power supply glass type if you have to replace the fuse make sure you use the same rated value. the value will be on the end of the fuse or on the fuse holder on the circuit board good luck
Now I know the rest of the story: After I went to see the TV I was told it had happened after a storm the next day the set was dead. She had already recieved the insurance money. She said she did not want to spend much money on it as she obtained the set at a garage sale for 60 bucks 6 years ago. As I looked into the circuit board I noticed evidence of water damage and looking up the case and on top, yup, thats why she got it so cheap. I do think it is lightly damaged. As a grandmother of a close friend I didn't Intend to charge her but she gave me some bucks and the insides of the tv. I'm sure their isn't much time on it. If any one wants some parts on a 1993 RCA mod p46770ck (48" screen) contact me thru snailmail @ Whiskers, rr1bx57a zip 64632 Include your ph.# and I will call you. (I don't use the computer every day)
It sounds to me that you may have a cold solder joint ( loose connection on the board ). I suggest you remove the board ( or seek professional assistance ) and solder any loose connections that you may find. That may correct the problem. Good Luck.
Have a Great Presidents Day
Have you checked the fuse? If the fuse is good you have a problem with the power supply which can be repaired. You would need a service manual for the power supply. But that would be a lot cheaper than having it repaired by a shop. Power supply problems usually run about 400 to 600 in a repair shop. When often it is a 20.00 part. If I can assist you further please let me know.
hey, I just fix my RCA p46770ck with that faint click sound when you try to power on. It was the HV splitter for $74.and change. after a long hunt to find the source of the problem I did what my local appliance store said to do replace the hole board for $275 luckily I was able to return that because it did nothing different than my board/module click.... click.... clickclickclickclickclick turn on you peace of @#%! any way if you unscrew the back cover off you'll see a black box at the top left corner with 4 red wires going to it groped 3 and 1. The 1 is your HV (High Voltage) supply and then gets split to each tube. Oh you should of unplug the tv before you touch any thing HV is 30,000 volts after you unplug you should push the power button to get ride of all voltage. please feel free to contact me at Heicheltechservice@hotmail.com for any Q: I can get part numbers or help in any whey i can
