    Did the game run before?

Can you get out of the game back to windows?

Try drivers from Nvidia's site (if you have the latest drivers downgrade to a previous driver)

Computer Does not work correctly with Radeon 9250 Graphics Card

Hmm? Everything except replacing the motherboard, sometimes it does not get any better, but...go into your BIOS and turn off the Gateway splash screen. It will be an option in maybe the first or second menu choice. Make sure your on board video device is disabled and save your options when exiting. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Diablo 2 not starting

Re: "my screen goes black for about 2 seconds, and then I return to my desktop and the game ins't running"

Test the graphic setting.

Go to Run box under start button and type in DxDiag to test your graphic card and video software acceleration.

If Direct X do not work on some format, reinstall direct x (put update direct x in google).

If the problem is the video card , reinstall video card drivers.

If it is none of the above, then there may be an issue between Diablo 2 and you graphic card.

Blank screen after grapics card installtion

NO NO NO!
The 7900 is vastly superior to the 8500gt!
the 8500gt is a low end budget card not suitable for demanding games- return it get rid of it, that is a massive step down form the 7900. Its likegoing from a 7900 to a 7600 or worse!

COMPUTER GOES SHUTDOWN WHEN PLAYING HIGH-END GAMES

If your mobo wasn't compatible with your video card, you wouldn't get a screen at all.
Yes upgrade your directx to 10
and yes upgrade your power supply to a 650Watt or greater.
The problem is most likely that you have a low wattage PSU and
when your vcard request more power to run higher graphic games than the
Windows Interface, your computer shuts down because it doesn't have enough power to give.

Monitor goes black suddenly

nvdia 6600 requires a minimum of 450 Watts of power to ensure that everything works properly. So if you want to continue using your nvdia card, an upgrade will be necessary.

If you want to test to see if it is the nvidia card, you need to remove the card physically from the system, then boot with the onboard video. This action will eliminate any conflicts between the two video cards. Before doing this you may need to go into device manager and make sure the onboard video card is not disabled.
