My printer will not print any documents from my HP pavilion Lap top. I will receive and send faxes. It will make copies. We bought a new Lap top for my daughter and can ot get online with our NET GEAR...

Go to control panel- printers and check that your printer is selected as the default printer. If it isn`tn then right click on the icon and set it as the default printer. I am assuming that your laptop is recognizing the printer of course and your usb cable is inserted properly.

The message "no communication between printer and computer". some times indicates that the cable you're using is faulty or the port selected is not the printer port you've connected your printer to.cheers.

Hi there. I have just taken over this office and am not sure what is connected and what is not. I am trying to send a fax through my computer and the "waiting for printer to respond:Canon MP830...

you need to give more details on how you're trying to send the fax.
keep in mind you don't actually need a printer to send the fax if you're using your computer to send the fax.. that's the reason you need to be more precise when discribing your problem.

in general you need to be familiar with how things are connected.

if your printer is a fax machine too the minimum you need is to have your printer/fax connected to a line (to the telephone wall jack) and to be powered up.

if your printer is only a printer and you're using your computer to send the fax you need to have your modem (the connector in the back of your computer that looks like a telephone line but says not telephone but 'line' connected to the phone line on the wall) connected and have software that allows you send faxes via your computer. (windows xp has that software so you need to make sure is installed (start>control panel>add remove programs>add/remove windows components>fax services should be installed) and if the software is installed you should be able to go to start>accessories>communications>fax>fax console

confirm what is your set up and give more details.

I have a HP PSC 2350 series printer scanner fax and can not get it to load on my new microsoft Vista lap top. How do I do this

Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=421997&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us to have the utility check your system to see if the proper driver is installed.

It is difficult to understand your exact problem from the description that you "can not get it to load", but I would further suggest, if the above process does not solve it, go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?rule=38475&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=421997&lang=en, which presents two specific resolutions. Both are related to installation of the software that came with the printer, and it appears that if this is done properly, the printer should function without issue.

Finally, any remaining issue can be directly resolved by working through online chat directly with HP, while you are at the machine you are trying to connect the printer to and working with one of their techs. This should provide you with resolution, and thank you for rating FixYa!

I have a brother printer, Model Number HL-2700cn, serial no u60767M4S142278. I just bought a lap top and wireless broadband router. In order to connect the printer to my wireless lap top I need the IP...

The Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) protocol
automatically assigns an IP address from the range:
169.254.1.0 to 169.254.254.255. If the APIPA protocol is
disabled, the default IP address of a Brother print server is
192.0.0.192. To change it, use the printer control panel (if
applicable), the BRAdmin Professional, Web BRAdmin software
or let your DHCP server allocate an IP address to the printer.
2 Refer to chapter 10 of this User’s Guide to learn how to
configure the IP address on your printer.
3 The default password for Brother print servers is access.

I don't no how did you try.

If your both lap are connected in any way you can share printer to both your lap. Please try the following steps:

Step 1): Install the printer drivers to your first lap.
Step 2): Connect your printer to your first lap and turn it on.
Step 3): Navi gate Start -> Printer and Faxes
It will open the Printer and Faxes window including all your printer installed.
Step 4): Right Click on the printer icon whic you want to share and select Sharing.. from the pop-up menu appeared.
It will open your printer properties.
Step 5): On sharing tab click on Share this printer radio button and give a Share name also tick the list in the directory.
Step 5): Clik on Ok

Now your printer is ready to share to other computer in your network.

Step 6): In the second lap navigate Navi gate Start -> Printer and Faxes
It will open the Printer and Faxes window including all your printer installed.
Step 7): Click on Add printer to left panel of the window
Step 8): Click Next
Step 9): There will be option Local or Network select Network and click Next
Step 10) Again Next, The find printer dialog will be open. Type the firs 1 or 2 letters of the your printer name which you have given in share name of first lap and then clik find.
Step 11): The printer will be listed in a list Select and click ok and click on next in next dialog.

and now you can enjoy..........:))
