Question about Whirlpool RBD305PD Electric Double Oven
Our oven displayed an error message. I think it was E somthing. Pressed a botton it went away. Couple of days later the display went blank. It would beep when pressed different keypads, the light would come on and off. Turned the fuse on and off. It did not help! Opened the top control panel and tried to clean the wide strip connector. Now it does not even beep! It looked like there was a bend in the connector. I have taped it up to make sure it is straight .... Do you think I have to replace the control panel? Any other checks I can make before replacing the control panel? How could I make sure it is only it?

Atlanta...sounds like you may have a power supply problem or the panel is bad. Cut the power, open the unit up and see if there is a fuse in there or a reset. No good? Then replace the circuit board. They just, well, die sometime. Happened to my microwave. Some units may be available remanufactured. Look around on the web.

fiest press the on key see if the display comes if not the turn the power off for 5-8 seconds if that doesnt do it turn power off then pull the oven out from the wall and remove the top to acess eoc pull the mylar ribbion out of the eoc by releasing the latch which is a tiny pullout bar at the base of the connector at the eoc then you cam clean the ribbon gently with a clean pencial eraser also under the top panel will be a tech sheet with more info pay atten to resseting the oven cavity size on start up

For some reason I get the same error code every time we have a power outage. If you push and hold the "lower off" button for about ten or 15 seconds it will unlock and reset. Hope this helps.

Hello, The first thing I'd look at is your owner's manual to insure the timer hasn't been set to "Sabbath" mode accidently. If that is the case you could experience a "no display" scenario. The manual will also explain how to enter/exit the "Sabbath" mode. In the event the timer itself is at fault ( i.e. the display transformer gone bad ) it will have to be replaced or (if an available option exist's for your timer) have your timer rebuilt. Hope that help's and please take a second and rate the info provided by me here at fixya. Thank you and good luck. macmarkus :)

replace the 22uf-50volt capacitor. Looking at the glass display bottom right corner you need to flip the board to the tan side in that same spot you will see two small caps. You want to replace the smaller one. I replaced both for $2.00. Radio shack has them in stock.
