There are two possible problems. The first one I suggest as it is the easiest. Unplug your TV and leave it this way for a week or two. Seems like a long time as you may be curious as to what the problem is. If you can stand the wait, now plug in your TV and power it up. If the TV powers up and you have video and audio, great. This may only last a moment or two and the TV will shut down again. If this is the case, you will have to replace the the small signal board (ssb). These are very expensive , about 250 to 300 bucks for one. I have to honest with you, but chances are, this is not the problem. The next solution I mention will be the most common problem. If you have any knowledge of TV repair, or know of a electronic hobbiest, find one. Remove the back cover and you will see two large boards on the floor of the TV. Be sure your TV is unplugged of course. You will see in the center between the two boards, there are jumper tape connections. These also have location numbers. You will look for jumper connection 1516, you will want to disconnect this one only. Now plug in your TV and power it up. If the high voltage comes up, the picture tubes will light up for a few seconds or stay on. If they shut down, don't worry, we have found the problem. The thing here is we are on to something. You may notice the picture on the TV will be out of alignment. The convergence ICs , and resistors on the large signal module will need replaced. Please see this website for repairs, They show photo and detailed instructions as well as having the parts for repair. In the next problem category, if the TV picture is good, then I would say you have an audio output IC is bad. I have not repaired one with this problem. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

Lg 42px-4dv/ea sustain pcb fails after 6 hrs running.

Try hard resetting;

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
Figure 1: Example of the reset button labeling on the LC2600N
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

We have nothing on the screen and the power, temp and lamp lights are flashing. We purchased this as a display and think we may have put it in to bit of a tight spot restricting air flow. We have only had...

First try to unplug it from the wall outlet, wait 5-10 min and plug it back in. If same problem continues - next step is to replace the lamp.
Any DLP projection TV needs at least 2"-3" "breathing" space around sides, top and back of the set for proper airflow.
But most likely case - lamp died because of too much hours of use in previous location. Lamp designed to work around 4500-5000 hrs. in realistic environment. Looks like having it on display, store used most of those hrs up.
Sorry for bad news.
Good luck!

No Picture or Sound and chirping from rear

Most likely there are defective capacitors in the power supply. The chirping you are hearing is the attemt to fire up the supply. The cold may have been enough to cause the caps that were on the verge of failing to completely fail. This should be a simple repair for any shop. If you wish to attempt the repair yourself, let me know and I'll try to get you mode details on the likely defective parts.

Power Problem

A few things come to mind, but if you have no solid state experience with TV repairs, you really should let a trained tech do this repair. There is a resistor that changes value in the power supply that goes bad sometime, its R902, a 270k 1/2 watt, A capacitor that goes bad also in the power supply, C920- 10mfd @ 100volts,and R540 off pin 5 of the flyback will open up or cold solder connection.. Remeber stay safe as this is no place to be experimenting with. Good Luck Ps please dont forget to rate this thread.
