This is easily fixed - go into MENU and you will find a picture quality Q. This is designed to go from FINE - Medium - POOR in order to enable you to take more photos on you cameras memory. Install at least a 1gb memory stick into your camera and then choose HIGHEST QUALITY you will now be able to get plenty a photos at the highest quality possible gor the camera with an 8.2 megapixal those photos should be really nice. I have sd850 is digital camera , why when i take a picture at night even i use flash the picture comes out to dark . do i need to use the flash or not. i always put in automatic . if i don't want to use...

Go to your ISO settings and set it higher. take several pictures till you seee wnat works. the flash is only good for about 10 fet if it's truly dark. Turn it up all the way and if it's too bright turn it back till you find what you want. the lower the better untill it's too dark. Try pushing the pictures with your computer and as long as your not a witness for court cases pushing the pichures with your computer can give you some great pictures as long as the cameria got the picture OK to beginwith as the lower ISO settings will give you more to work with as the ISO goes up the quality goes down and as you push with the computer the quality goes down but if the orginanal has enogh ( Juice ) in it and you computer prgram is a good one then you can make good Processed pictures and you may be pushing the limits of the camera. Maybe next time shell out for a better camera that has more than 10 Megapixals and you'll start seeing into the dark, 20 megapixals really do well but how deep are your pockets? Pup a big flood light on the job and use the flash with the best batteries that you can find and maybe you can get what your looking for. I'm a pro but some low light pictures using a tripod and a remote shutter( to remove all shake) sometimes can get the camera to step up and get the best picture it can take. Take lots of pictures and use brade name chips as some of the noname chips can do a low light picture bad I've thrown away all the cheapie chips I had and I only use the Hi dollar ones, and I'm good to go.

Poor quality

Make sure that you set the camera to use its highest resolution which is explained in the manual.
Make sure the lens is clean.
Make sure you use the flash if the light is low.
Make sure you hold the camera steady and allow it to focus before pressing the shutter.
Another thought would be to take it into a camera store with some of the poor pictures and allow them to examine them. After all, a picture is worth a 1000 words...

Finally, consider upgrading your camera. The most important features are the size of the lens opening (aperature; it is a percentage so a lower number is better) and the resolution (megapixals; more the better).

Good luck.

Flash is set to "on" but won't work; pictures are grainy--poor quality

Go into the setup menu and bump your picture size UP one setting. It isn't the actual size of the print but, the purity of the picture. The size of the file will get larger.

Polaroid i1035: Bad quality pictures, appear grainy and fuzzy

The grainy effect has to do do with the ISO setting, try adjusting that. A higher ISO is generally better for darker conditions. I have noticed that this camera frequently takes grainy images.

check to see if your image stabilization is on (shaky hand). turn this feature off. also check the properties of your image to see if the iso is set to automatic. high iso, such as 800, will cause this in cameras

Poor image quality

hotoPC 650 captures images in 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). Your pictures will not display maximum image quality if your monitor or computer's video controller doesn't support this color depth. Additionally, if your pictures are taken in 1154 x 864 mode, try increasing your video resolution above 640 x 480. You may need to upgrade your system to achieve the best possible image quality. If your pictures look better on the screen than when you print them out, you may need to upgrade your printer. An EPSON Stylus ink jet printer, for example, provides excellent image quality. If you used drag and drop to insert your pictures, they may appear grainy. Try importing them into your documents instead.
