Question about LG TROMM WM2688H 4.0 cu.ft. Front Loading SteamWasher

1 Answer

Displays reads "LE"

I have never had trouble with the LG Washer. Today, however, I have a load which will not run. I have tried to rebalance and have even removed some clothing (though it did not seem over full). There is some water in the tub but it will not go past the first 2 minutes of the cycle. I think it needs to empty and start again but I do not know how to do that.
Thank you for your assistance,
Marjie Weldele

Hello Marje Weldele,
The Code "LE' is identified in the LG service manual as follows:
Locked Motor Error with the following cuses listed: The 3 pin connector ( white male connector 3 pin) isn not connected to the corresponding connector of the Stator Assembly ( meaning it may have gotten disconnected during a violent wash cycle...
The electric contact between connectors in the main harness to the Main PWB Assembly is bad or unstable ( meaning the connector going from the harnes to the main control circuit board may be making marginal or no contact, The motor harness between the Stator and the Main Control Board may have been cut or disconnected ad lastly the Hall Sensor is out of order or defective. Those are the prime components that may be causing your problem. In all cases, it warrants a service call but ..

It should be noted that LG has the following warranty on that product:

LABOR: One Year from the Date of Purchase Parts (except as listed below): One Year from the Date of Purchase
Electronic Control Board: 2 Years from the Date of Purchase
Drum Motor: 7 Years from the Date of Purchase
Stainless Steel Drum; Lifetime
Replacement Units and repair parts may be new or factory remanufactured. Replacement Units and repair Parts are warranted for the remaining portion of the original unit’s warranty period
In-Home Service: Please retain Dealers dated bill of sale or delivery ticket as evidence of the Date of Purchase for proof of warranty, and submit a copy of the bill of sale to the service person at the time warranty service is provided.

LG WASHER LE CODE

Fix for Error Code "LE" on LG Front Load Washing Machine
I just had an interesting experience with our LG washing machine today. I found some hints for the solution online buried in some user forums, but I thought posting my particular solution here in a less cluttered blog might make it easier to find.
I had just run a load of laundry, emptied the machine, and reloaded. I put the detergent in and started the machine. After sitting for about 2 minutes with no activity, a "LE" error message appeared.
While the online forums indicated this might be a problem with a sensor, I was able to solve the problem by doing the following:
1. Press the Power button
2. Manually rotate the hopper 4 times clockwise and 4 times counter-clockwise.
3. Press the power button and run the machine normally.
Don't know if this will work for everyone, but it worked for me. If I keep getting the error message, I'll have to call LG and find out about this sensor I was reading about.

The digital timer on the machine will say 1 minute to go, but the machine will run on the spin cycle for 6 to 8 minutes before it finishes. Is there a part I can replace to correct this problem?

Your washer displays an estimate of time remaining in the current wash cycle. That estimate is based on the load finishing without any delays. Prior to going into a high speed spin, your washer "tests" the load balance by either rocking or slowing rotating.

If it senses and off balance condition, it will attempt to "rebalance" the load by itself and then retest, rebalance, etc. until it is satisfied that the load is as balanced as possible. Then it begins to spin. When your washer takes longer than is predicted in the display, it is because of this.

Happy washing...

LG washer has a fault code of LE and won't run

LE is motor overload - Does it let you 'try' to start a load, make some noise, and then say LE after a minute or two? If so, you need to replace the hall sensor. See here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t260950-lg_tromm_wm2277hw_will_not_spin_both

LG Tromm washer WM2077CW reading code LE

LE means "Overload in Motor" Unplug the washer, remove clothes, wait 15 minutes for motor to cool down. try again. If problem persists you'll need a certified technician.

LE error on LG wm1814CW

My wife and I had the same LE error on our LG washer intermittently in the past. We have already been down the road to replacing the Hall Sensor only to find the washer not spinning and displaying the LE error again. Here is what we have found to be the remedy: Being that the Hall Sensor is a "Position" Sensor, we made a conscientious effort after unloading the washer to place the drum in the same position as when it finished its spin cycle. It has now been about 3-4 months with NO "LE" ERROR on the washer!!! One other thing - if you currently have the error displaying, you will have to unplug the washer for at least 2 hours to erase the memory of the drum position. This way you start fresh with a good position. Just leave it unplugged overnight. Hope this helps out!

Peace,
ngafm at your service!

Lets try this first!
Unplug the washer for 5 minutes and then replug and try it to see if this reboots the system like when a computer acts up, we do the same thing for most electronic devices!
If for some reason this is not helpful, open the user guide and see what the tell you is the meaning of a code"le" on your specific machine!
How old is the washer?

I'm here all night if you want to write me back!

LG WM2277HW washer LE error

I was also having the LE error problem. I tried removing the unpumped water , tried re-running the load etc....... then I decided to try something else.... just like we have to restart our computers, I thought about resetting the washer so to speak......not sure if it is fixed, I am going to try running another load, but, I UNPLUGGED THE WASHER, LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS, THEN PLUGGED BACK IN.... AND THE WASHER WENT THROUGH A CYCLE AND FINISHED.
