I recommend buy a CD or DVD top shelf burner and player for about $50. They are a whole lot easier to use, better quality, more portable, you don't overwhelm your computer, etc. Doing this in your computer can take several hours. Or you can follow your instint and get a video/music card capture.....you may need a technicial to add and configure it to your needs....more money.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I record songs from turntable to disc?

There are several ways to record from turntable to CD or DVD disk. Easiest way is to connect the output of your "Pre-amp"s tape-out to the "line in" on your computer. There is a very good free application, "Audacity" you can use to record with. Once it's been recorded in your computer, you can then write it to a writable disk.

My turn table is going to fast when i play an record , what can i do to fix this? thanks

Hello the turn table has two speeds. 45rpm and 33rpm (rotations per minute) If you are playing a record that takes up the entire turntable you need to set it on 33rpm. For the records that only take up half of the turntable you want to set it on 45rpm. Setting the turntable on the wrong setting for a certain size record can make the record play to fast of to slow.

I can not get my Crosley CR248 Songwriter to Finalize when I try to transfer from cassette to cd. It keeps showing me FAIL....

I don't know this particular machine but here are some general comments.
Most CD recorders need you to press (and sometimes hold) the record button followed by the play button before tehy actually record anything (if you don't press the play button you will still hear sound via headphones etc. but no recording file will be created)
Does it record from vinyl records okay or is it just cassettes?
Are you using the correct sort of CD?
We use a Denon CD recorder and it only works with AUDIO CDs - computer data CDs or CDRWs will not work in it. Even if the Crossley will accept computer CDs it may require a particular format either +ve or -ve (labelled CDR+ or CDR-) to be compatible. Once you have tried finalising a disk and it has failed you cannot use the same disk again.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9 movie downloading and DVD burning

I always recommend having a version of your users manual on your computer, because it is so much easier to search through the manual quickly to find what you are looking for.

You can find a digital version of the users manual for the Sanyo CG9 here, and you will also find the free software for downloading videos to your computer and watching them there.

Once your videos are on your computer, you can burn a data disc without any commercial software. Some DIVX or XVID dvd players will play these data disks and you can watch your movies like that. An .MP4 data DVD will hold much more video than a standard DVD video disk because it squeezes it much tighter. You can play your .mp4 videos through a PS3 using a data dvd or a thumbdrive.

If you want to convert your mp4 videos to a standard dvd that will play in any dvd player, you will need commercial conversion software such as ULead MovieFactory or Nero Vision. MovieFactory was included with some sanyo camcorders, but if you have lost your disk, they do not allow you to download it from their website.

I hope that helps!

Low volume and unbalanced deck

Turntables require amplification, they have very low output on their own. If your Sherwood has an Aux input try using that, older receivers often had a built-in pre-amp on the aux jack. You can obtain a stand alone pre-amp for less than $50, I use one from mcm, #40-630.

I think there should be options that allow you to protect the disc or not. Check your settings.
