Question about Janome Memory Craft 10000

1 Answer

Bobbin thread won't pick up and tangles up in a mess.

It seems to happen when the bobbin is half full. The machine starts making a clicking sound and a stutter. Then the balled up mess underneath. I took it in for cleaning and told them what was happening but obviously they didn't check it. I have rethreaded the top of the machine, have removed the bobbin and put it back in and have put in a new needle. When the bobbin is full it seems to work fine.

I can't fix your problem, but I feel for you. I took my machine in- they did not even call and tell me when it was ready. They told me they cleaned and realigned it. Well, if they had cleaned it there would be no lint in the bobbin case. $110 and 10 days later took it back to the shop with thread balling on the under side. Now it is 3 days later and no call and when I do call they act like I am bothering them... Can't wait to get it back hopefully fixed and I am finished with this dealer....
    Hope you got yours fixed...

Here is the Janome website with many good FAQ.
I had previously read thet the bunching on the bottom of that fabric is caused by the tention on the bottom thrread is not enough . Increase the bobbin tension slightly. You may have to download a manuaol to learn how,if you don;t alrewad have one?

If it is creating a thread mess (thread nest) under the fabric, either the machine is not threaded correctly or you have forgotten to lower the presser foot before beginning to stitch.

Make sure you are starting with a brand new needle!

Remove all the thread from the machine.

Check that the bobbin thread is smoothly wound onto the bobbin and that the bobbin is inserted and thread properly in the machine.

ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the upper thread. Check that the thread path is correct.

Set the upper tension to the midway point on the dial--this is usually the factory setting but may alter over time with use. Once you get your machine stitching without a mess, you can gently alter the upper tension until the two threads meet in the middle of the fabric.

Remember to lower the presser foot before beginning to stitch.

It also helps to pull the bobbin thread up to the top of the fabric and either wrapping both thread tails around a finger on the left hand or gently holding the thread tails between the left index finger and thumb. Then SLOWLY begin stitching.

Loud clunking noise when sewing. . . then it starts to stutter then it stops & gives me an error. It doesn't occur when reverse sewing though

try these suggestions
change the needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
make sure to use every thread guide
make sure the bobbin is not damaged or warped
make sure the bobbin is not over full
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case
make sure the bobbin case fits securely into the machine unless it's
a drop in bobbin
if these suggestions don't help then the machine may need to be
checked at a repair shop

Upper thread breaks
needle may be in backwards
Raise the needle bar to the highest point then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
upper tension may be to tight
the needle may be bent or damaged

Lower thread breaks
The most probable cause of lower thread breaking is improperly wound bobbin
don't wind the bobbin so full that it would be tight & hard to insert into bobbin case
bent bobbin--replace
thread catching on the bobbin spring or latch on bobbin case check to see that the bobbin is inserted completely & correctly & that you are using the right kind of bobbin .

LS-1520 Brother sewing machine hook pick thread up takes it around half way and gets stuck...any ideas. the timing seems to be right??!!

try changing needles
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for loose thread or lint
make sure the bobbin is inserted into the bobbin case correctly--if the
machine won't pick the thread up from the bobbin correctly take the bobbin
out of the case & turn it around & try it that way.

The macine said it was an E6 error thread jam which I completely cleaned the bobbin area (not much there anyway) but I still cannot get it to not jam the thread on the botom. I have changed needles also.

Hello

This code tells you that the motor locked up because the thread is tangled. Untangle the thread, make sure the machine is threaded properly and that the proper tension is set before continuing.

It could be that the bobbin is being put in upside down check to make sure that you do not need a bobbin with a magnet on one side. also make sure there is no thread tangled inside the bobbin housing it will cause the timing of the machine to be off and cause issues with your needle picking up the bobbin and thus cause a mess inside you bobbin housing

When winding a new bobbin, the bobbin itself is breaking in two. (splits in half, the top and bottom split apart). It seems logical that there is too much tension perhaps. It happens almost at the end...

There's really no way to increase the bobbin winder tension. Check to see that you have it threaded correctly for bobbin winding. There should be just a little bit of drag on the thread as you pull it over to prewound it on the bobbin.

There is something wrong with the bobbin. When I sew it catches somewhere and bunches thread up underneath

Does this only happen when you begin sewing????? Make sure your upper and lower threads are long enough for you to hold them.......lower your pressure foot and don't release the threads until you have sewn several stitches into the seam. If you don't hold the threads when starting a seam...both threads often get pulled down into the bobbin area and cause a big tangled mess. Hope this helps.
