Question about Samsung SyncMaster 240 T 24.1" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Horizontal pixel line

The monitor is in good condition except that in the last month it developed horizontal lines of pixels not displaying the picture. When the monitor is off for a while and is turned on there are no pixels out and the picture is perfect . After it warms up then the lines appear. The total number of lines that go out varies from 2 to a number that makes up about a 3/8" thick solid line. the picture of the lcd screen is on my main picture please help me out with a solution and thank you :).

There's a green line going down vertically on the monitor screen all the time

a resitor line has failed and you cannot fix it, once they fail thats it ,its there for good. Its same as dead pixels on a monitor, except this is a whole line of pixels, if you hit the area above the line hard it will probably go away but will come back sometime, learn to live with it or buy a new monitor.

My Dell P2310H monitor has a vertical Blue line and a white horizontal line displaying on the monitor.

This occurs when you have lines of pixels go out or your video card has gone bad on your computer. You should hook it up to another computer to confirm which is causing the issue and repair/replace the problem device.

My Syncmaster 225bw suddenly developed a horizontal line about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom. It looks like a single line of bad pixels. Is this possibly the screen itself, is it an inverter problem?...

If the inverter is bad you will black screen, the lines can be caused by failed T-CON board which is part of the LCD panel assembly. You may try reseating the ribbon cable on the LCD panel.
Please see LCD panel in my albums here:

LCD monitor have Vertical lines and black colour become greenish

normally the 19" resolution can support up to 1280*1024, but if it comes with vertical lines in full screen, it might indicate the panel is no longer to work and probably it's time to replace new one.

Black colour displaying become greenish and narrow vertical lines

Most LCD monitors have a default refresh rate of 60 Hz. Older monitors also have limited resolution. Please check your display settings and ensure you're not using a refresh rate higher than 60, or a resolution higher than what it supports. If either one is the case, you're lucky the LCD still works.

Horizontal black line in monitor display

Yes, it can ve repaired. The problem is if it will be cost effective. I would hook up another monitor just to rule out the video card. It probably is not the video card...but be safe.

LCD monitors are very easy to repair...and I would suspect the LCD itself...

Let me know if you need a source to purchase the will price it yourself and determine if it would be cost effective.

If you have a CRT monitor...junk it...definetly too costly to repair abd parts are scarce.

Good luck to you my friend.

Syncmaster 245B Monitor Shivering horizontal lines

Which type of video connector are you using? VGA or DVI?

If you are using VGA, the horizontal line could be due to interference, like from an electric motor (fan) near the video cable.

Other thing to try is to change the refresh rate. In Windows XP: Control panel --> Display Properties --> Settings tab --> Advanced button --> Monitor tab --> Screen refresh rate. The default ot 60Hz for LCD monitors. Bump it up to 75Hz. That could give a clue to the problem or maybe even fix it.

Two light lines have just appeared

Your driver transistors are failing on those "Rows" of Pixels.. a common problem .. you could try "Pixel Reviver" software from here see if that helps.. but it possibly is on the way out sorry..
