What are some of the reasons my radio transmits but doesn,t receive

One possibility is the other radios in your group are operating open squelch (aka without a tone code, private line, PL, interference eliminator). If your radio has a CODE turned on, your radio will block receiving radios without the same exact code.

Best regards.

Lost the keys to my citroen c3. How do I get a key code without going to a dealership?

The problem you have is the dealer have the codes in their system don't like your chances of getting them anywhere ?
each key code corresponds to the vehicle's VIN number.
Good luck.

I'm not familiar with the radio itself, but it seems from the symptoms that the audio processor/stage is the only common problem i.e: audio does not work. Do you have a schematic for the unit? If so, I would follow the DC path to the audio stage and troubleshoot in that area. The other stage that can be suspected is the regulator stage. Hope it helps a bit.

Pair of radios won't talk to each other

Have you checked the QT filter? The T5950 have an addtional interference filter called the QT filter. It filters out other radios and allows Motorola radios to speak only to other Motorola radios with the filter. Check the QT setting on both radios by pushing the menu button 6 times, the QT setting will show. If it shows a straight line on the display the filter is not on. Now push the + button (beside the menu button), to turn the QT filter on (a Y will show on the screen when on) or the - button to turn it off (the line will show when filter is off). The radios have to match all channels and all filters to talk to each other.

Tone on channels 5-15

I have worked on the TK 3101's and that tone is when the channel does not have a frequency.
It is a PC programmable radio. I assume you purchased the radio used and the previous owner had channels 5-15 "blank"
I can program it for you if you needed.
