Please, please, please yahoo fix this problem. It is so frustrating to not be able to open some (not all) of my email. Also, past messages dated 10/08 have just been transferred to my new email address. I am unable to open these and some appear to have been urgent.

You can open yahoo mail using a proxy site... there are tons... I personally recommend etc...

Though you'll just open your mail in classic mode... It's better than not opening it at all..

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Firefox can't find the server at

Hello, Hankreddyko -

Your problem seems similar to one I encountered in December 2014 with Firefox.

Eventually, I figured out what causing my problem, and I posted my solution on

This is my solution from 5 Dec 2014:

I tried the steps of clearing my cookies and cache and even upgraded my Mozilla browser to the latest version, with no luck. Note: I could sign in to my Yahoo! account with Google Chrome and with IE 11. This morning, after "sleeping on it," I wondered if my "Do Not Track" settings (no tracking) on my Mozilla browser was causing the problem of "cookies rejected." First I tried signing into my Yahoo! account with "no tracking" settings through Do Not Track on Mozilla. I couldn't sign in. Then, I disabled the tracking on Do Not Track and tried signing into Yahoo! with Mozilla. Bingo! I could sign in. I have now reset Do Not Track for "no tracking." Others may wish to try this solution if the steps provided through Mozilla support don't work.

Maybe your problem has to do with "Do Not Track".

However, since you also had the same problem with Chrome, another option may be that Yahoo! Mail was down for a while. Whenever I encounter a problem of not connecting to a web site, I go to the website "Is It Down Right Now?" to check. This is the link:

I enter the website name, Example: Yahoo Mail, and click on the Check button. The results come back relatively quickly. If it seems the particular website is "down right now" or "down for just you," you will just have to wait a bit to check again.

Best wishes.

I am not able to login in my yahoo email...although I know my ID and pwd is correct

Hi there,

There have been problems with signing into yahoo mail lately. Chances are, your ISP could hardly connect to yahoo's mail servers and vice versa. Try to use and click on the Email link on the upper right corner of the website. You will be given a field to enter your username and password. You can use that temporarily is you really want to access email.

Please let me know this helped you. Thank you for using FixYa.

Why yahoo down in china today

The problem is most probably with your internet provider, having trouble connecting to yahoo china. You can use Open DNS as nameservers, tho. This gives you a better chance connecting to yahoo china and other websites you're having trouble connecting. Go to your network connection settings and on the TCP/IP, instead of using obtained DNS server, use the following:

Should you need further assistance, please let me know.

Yahoo mail too slow

since you are not able to access yahoo mails it might be for internet connection speed
incase that is not the case try to configure your outlook or ms outlook with yahoomail
Yahoo Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails incoming through your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client software. To setup your email client for working with your Yahoo account, you need to select the POP3 protocol and use the following mail server settings:
Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - (port 110)
Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - (port 25)

No email can not be sent or compuse or reply

After deleting and recreating an account in Mail, you might not be able to send emails even if you can receive them. When you try to send a message, this alert may appear:
"Cannot send message using the server"
This happens if the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) server, used for outgoing messages, was incorrectly entered with the first account even if it was correctly entered for the replacement account.
Products Affected Mail
Resolution You should first verify that the network connection you're using is the correct one for the ISP that you want mail to communicate with.
  1. Open Mail.
  2. From the Mail menu, choose Preferences
  3. Click Accounts.
  4. On the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) pop-up menu, choose Edit Server List.
  5. Delete all entries for the SMTP server that is mentioned in the error, and click Done.
  6. Configure the current SMTP server by clicking Server Setting.

Note: If you need to use multiple SMTP servers for multiple Mail accounts, see this document.
  7. Send a test message to your email address.
