If the above does not work the problem may be related to the way vista manages file access privileges.

When you run an installation sometimes you need to click the right button of mouse on the installer file, and chose "Run as Administrator" from the dropdown menu.

Do this every time you install a file.

See:How to use User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista

If that does not work, you can try activating the administrator account, and running the setup, and the update procedure as administrator.

Activating the administrator account on Vista is quite complicate, see : How to access the true Administrator account in Windows Vista

Installing Photo Explosion Deluxe

Did you look in C:\Program Files\Common Files folder?
Some programs will place shared files in here.

If that does not work, download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Install it, then run it from Programs. If you see either of these programs have the utility remove it.

2) Click on the My Computer. This should open a window titled My Computer.
3) Double-click on the C: drive.
4) If the information is hidden, there is normally an option to show the hidden files/folders. You will need to select this option.
