Yes you do have to. Windows only sells one copy per computer, not per a customer. They have the legal right to do so because of copyright laws. For more information refer to the legal notice and terms of use that came with the copy that you have purchased.

Installation of Microsoft Office 2007

Office 2007 is an older version of the Microsoft Office suite created before Office 2010. If you have an installation DVD and product key for Office 2007, you can install it. Once Office 2007 is installed, you'll have access to an email, spreadsheet and text editing software suite.

1. Insert the installation DVD into your computer.

2. Type in the product key in the window that appears, click "Continue" then click "I accept the terms of this agreement" and click "Continue" again.

3. Click the "Install" button if you have no other versions of Office installed on y our computer, or click "Upgrade" if you have Office 2003 installed and wish to upgrade.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using fixya.

How to activate office 2007

moz-screenshot.pnggenuine-ms-software.gif
Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) is another anti-piracy initiative by Microsoft on its popular business productivity product – Microsoft Office XP, Office 2003 and Office 2007. Similar to Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA), OGA requires users of the Microsoft Office software to validate their installed copy of Microsoft Office in order to download files from Microsoft Download Center, access updates or hotfixes from Office Update, and receive special offers for genuine users.

OGA is not to be confused with Office Product Activation that is mandatory required to during the installation process in order to use the Office software whereby users enter a serial product key that is validated online over the Internet or by phone by Microsoft to confirm that the product key has not been used on more personal computers than are permitted by the Microsoft Software License Terms. To crack Office XP/2003/2007 activation, you need a key generator that provides volume license key (Guide: How to change Office 2007 product key).
If you’re using a keygen-generated product key or publicly available leaked Office 2007/2003/XP serial number, especially the volume license key (VLK) that requires no activation when used, most of the keys no longer able to pass the OGA genuine validation test anymore with the following error message (Office 2007 as instance):
office-fail-validation.jpg This computer has failed validation.
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007: Validation Failed
The product key used to install Office is not valid. It has been identified by Microsoft as a false key used with counterfeit copies of Office.
[0x80180108]
It’s likely that users who failed validation check may continue to use Microsoft Office as per normal and use Microsoft Updates to update critical patches. However, if you want to download add-ins, updates, templates, samples and tutorials, Smart Tags, Language Interface Packs and Software Development Kits (SDK) that require Genuine Office validation, you won’t be able to do so.
To bypass or crack the Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Office 2003 OGA genuine validation, follow these steps:
  1. Install and activate Microsoft Office 2007 or other version of Office. If you intend to use the key-gen, you must install Enterprise edition.
  2. Download the patched ogacheckcontrol.dll.
  3. If you never validate your copy of Office, go to Genuine Microsoft Software web page, and run the Office Validation Assistant by using Internet Explorer (not Firefox as it will use different version of ActiveX component). This is to install the components required for Office validation. If you fail the validation – Office not genuine – simply ignore the message.
  4. Copy the cracked ogacheckcontrol.dll to the following location: Windows XP and Windows Vista (32-bit): \Windows\System32\
Windows XP and Windows Vista (64-bit): \Windows\SysWOW64\
  5. Attempt to download Office files that require validation again. All downloads should work now.
The OGA Check Control crack works on Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, Office 2007 Blue Edition, Office 2007 Professional Edition, Office 2007 Pro Plus, Office 2007 Standard Edition and all Office 2003 Editions.
If you’re using invalid or blacklisted product key, you may have to change the Office product key (Guide: How to change Office 2007 product key). This is especially so if you’re using Microsoft Office 2007 Blue Edition.
Disclaimer: This patcher is for genuine Office user who having problem to pass genuine validation only. To use Office 2007, you must purchase a licenseir?t=techgadgetrev-20&l=ur2&o=1. Alternatively, you can use for free OpenOffice.org, an equally good productivity suite.

I need a product key for microsoft 2007 powerpoint anyone help me please?

I am going to answer your question with a question and few helpful tips... The microsoft 2007 is only a part of the whole microsoft office 2007 which would most likely include ms office word and excel (except if the cd which you used to install this product is purely for powerpoint since some suites can be sold separately) Is the powerpoint software something you have installed yourself on the computer or was it a preloaded application on the computer when it was purchased? All microsoft office suites would require the user to enter a 25 digit product key which is usually found on the sticker of the package which comes with the cd. If the ms office program was preloaded, computer manufacturers would ship out a card with the computer which will contain the product key. In either case if you already lost the sticker or the card I strongly recommend that you just purchase ms office 2010 from best buy or staples. The version is better and it will save you time and grief. Hope you find this helpful.

I just bought this brand spankin' new laptop and it has Vista on it... then the MS Office Home/Student 2007 and that kept asking me for a Prod Key...

The version of Office installed with most laptops is only a trial version. You would need to contact a Microsoft Partner/Reseller (like my company) to purchase a full Office license, or you can purchase directly from Microsoft at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/home-and-student/.
Sadly, the Office installed is a commercial product, and does not come included with your OS license. If you prefer not to pay, you can download OpenOffice for free (it's open source) at OpenOffice.Org. It will handle the default Microsoft file formats (.doc, .xls, .ppt, etc.) and you won't have to pay for it.

I cant find my product key for my microsoft office 2007 that came with my laptop?

If you have it currently installed, you can get the key that's being used by your computer.

To get it out, use the free Magical Jelly Bean keyfinder ( http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ )

good luck

As I entered the product key that was located in the back portion of my laptop. It will not allow me to convert my Microsoft word 2007 in full version.

The product key located on the back of the laptop is for the Windows OS that is already installed on your laptop. Usually the new systems have a trial version of MS Office pre-installed which can be converted into full version only if you buy the Ms Office Suite which will come with a different product key.

My laptop is accer aspire5734Z-4512. and now i can't operate microsoft word 2007 trial version. what shall i do to install a full version of microsoft word 2007 with free of coast? shall i install the full...

Check with the document and discs that came with your computer. It is very likely that the laptop shipped with a trial version off Office 2007 installed. This version would run for a limited time, often timed to the number of times you launched the program.

The number on your laptop is tied to your operating system and not to Office.

Your two choices at this time, is to purchase a retail package of the Office suite that most fits your needs. Microsoft, over time, has changed the offerings of what is in Office and the names of the packages (Student, Professional, etc.) or use a free solution like OpenOffice that can be found here.

Finally, Microsoft is selling their current version of Office which is 2010.

Hi, how do I get a product key for microsoft office 2007 which is installed on my new laptop...it keeps asking for it when I open word and only have access for another 19/20 times? best Regards

Hi. You have the trial version of MS Office 2007 which will lock after several usage or days depending on what version you have. You need to purchase a license to get the product key. License is available at local computer store or online. www.amazon.com sells genuine Office 2007 license.

the one that you are trying to enter is the product key for your windows operating system. MS Office Home/Student 2007 edition has a separate product key. what was installed in your system is an MS Office Home/Student 2007 trial version. you need to purchase the product key at microsoft website.
