Are you trying to say that the radio has talkback but you can't hear it? And that's a bad thing? All talkback does is increase the likelyhood you're going to squeal when using high power. Or with that high-power eye-legal leenyer.

Need user manual for a Ranger TR 127FS

Service manual is on the CBTricks.Com website. Look in the index for TR-127GK. This the same radio under the covers. This should suffice as an owners manual also.

When the mike is keyed to TR my audio comes thru the speaker. Cobra 29 LTD Classic. Best Regards Jim

If your voice is coming through the speaker when you transmit, it means you have talkback installed. If you don't like it, take it to a reputable CB shop and ask them to remove it.

The power is on, however, when I use the mic and speak the "needle" doesn't move, I have tried different mics. Also, the sound coming from the radio is also very soft.

When you say the sound coming from the radio is very soft, are you talking about talk back? if so, you want that soft. If you are talking about reception then just get an external speaker.

If the radio is working, and transmitting ok, the meter is not important.

You may want to get an external meter to make sure SWR's are good.

If it is not transmitting at all, there could be a real problem and the radio needs a tech.

My ranger 2950 will receive but will not transmit, also where can i get a 6 pin mike for this same radio ?

check tr 51 (Q 51) the sb754 on the back side mounting of the radio.. the center pin (collector) of this modulator ic should not be 13 volts. my bet is that it is.. this test is done in am mode.. not sideband.
depending on you carrier setiing it should be between 3 -8 volts any higher in am mode and my bet is that its bad... much more common than the finals in this radio. good luck Rick

No cb channels no audio no recive

If you have no channel display or CB operation, it sounds like a blown voltage regulator that supplies power to the CB PLL circuit.

SSB radio

If you are using the radio on a boat, then no, the grounding does not matter that much. However, an SSB transceiver would be hassle to install on a boat because of the amount of power they use to transmit. If the transmission is bad, try using the radio's internal tuner instead of the separate tuner. This may help improve the quality of transmit, however, some radios have a tough time clarifying incoming and outgoing signals and create a garbled sound when it receives a signal or when it transmits. If that doesn't work, then you can try grounding. But if you want a radio that doesn't require all this nonsense tning, you might want to think about investing in a Yaesu. They are pricey, but are one of the best HAM radios.
