Sounds like something came loose in the move. Remove and reseat all User Replaceable parts. Check documentation for the reset procedure (usually requires holding certain buttons while powering on) or provide the make and model so I can see what I can find. Also try another outlet.

I have a lexmark x8350 all in one.there is a color missing error

Hi,

Trying cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and clean the contacts on the printer use a dry tint paper towel to clean the contacts. Then try to reinstall the cartridge using the software. Next, lets try to print the self test.
Begin by disconnecting the power supply from the wall (not the back of the printer) for at least "30 seconds." This is essential. Then plug the printer back in and follow these steps:
1. Press the "Copy" button.
2. Press the "Menu" button.
3. Press the down arrow button once or until the screen displays "Maintenance."
4. Press the check mark button to select the "Maintenance" menu.
5. Press the down arrow button three times until the screen displays "Print Test Page."
6. Press the check mark button to select this. The Self-Test will start printing.
The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously.) Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail.

I have a dell computer and printer. We relocated

Greetings,

Does the printer show that it is receiving power?
Can the printer run any self tests?

It is possible that the USB cable is the failure point although I would expect that the port got banged around during the move.

The quickest isolation test is to replace the USB cable.

If that still does not work, then a service call may be an option. One other thought, if your PC has multiple USB ports, try the cable in one of them.

How do you clean the rollers?

One common cause of paper feed issues is a build up of dust on the printer's rear paper feed roller. This roller consists of a plastic axle white roller. This is located in the automatic sheet feeder and is referred to as the "Pick Roller." As dust builds up on the rubber rollers, they become less tacky and therefore unable to grab a single sheet of paper.

To prevent and/or cure this type of paper feed problem, these rubber rollers should be cleaned. Unplug the printer's power cord and remove the paper from the automatic sheet feeder. Please remove the paper access door from back of the printer and clean the white rollers inside with a cloth dampened with warm water (be sure there is no excess water on the cloth as it may drip into the machine). After these are free of any dust, close the paper access door. Reload the paper and plug the power cord back in. The paper should then feed normally.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Make sure the printer is in “Copy Mode.”
2. Press the “Menu” button once.
3. The screen will display “Copy Menu: Copies”.
4. Press the left arrow button once. The screen will display “Copy Menu: Tools”.
5. Press the check button once. The screen with read “Tools: Maintenance”.
6. Press the check button once. The screen with read “Maintenance: Ink Levels”.
7. Press the right arrow button until the screen reads “Maintenance: Print Test Page”.
8. Press the check button once. This will start the Self-Test. Once the page has printed, the printer will stop. The test is not continuous.

The self-test should at least print out a set of either a solid black or solid color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). Should this test fail, please try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with only a color cartridge installed (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed). If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues - we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.

If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

I am asking this question for my son. His power went out and now his printer when you turn it on blinks blue and will do nothing else. Is there something we can do?

It seems there is a possibility of a problem with the printer itself, or perhaps the cartridges. You should first self-test the printer, using the instructions below. (Since we are unsure where the problem exists, we must do eliminative troubleshooting to rule out parts of the printing system. The self-test allows us to rule out software and the cable by testing the hardware by itself. Please note that this is not a "fix," but rather a diagnostic test to determine if your hardware is at fault.)
First, please disconnect and then reconnect the power supply on the printer and make sure it makes a setup noise when the cable is reattached. Will the printer perform a form feed with paper loaded when the gray button is pressed? If not, you can stop here and write back to let us know and we can give you further instructions. It's most likely, however, that the power-on and form-feed will work fine.
Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:
1. Press the "Menu" button to escape "Photo Mode."
2. Press the "Down Arrow" until the screen shows "Print Test Page."
3. Press the "Select" button to print the Test Page.
4. The test is not continuous.
The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously).
Should this test fail, remove both cartridges and try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, you may have a paper jam, or the printer may require service.
Remove the paper from the printer and check for any obstacles (pens, thumbtacks, paper clips, etc.) or other obstructions. If you don't see any, disconnect the cables from the printer, turn it upside down and gently shake it to see if anything falls out. (Be careful to hold the cover shut during this procedure, and don't look up into the printer while you're shaking it.) In the event nothing comes out of the printer, you may require service to the printer. Stop here and let us know if this is the case, and we can provide you with further instructions.
If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.
If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.
If the self-test prints your test bar(s) clearly, the printer hardware is not at fault.

However, you may have to clear the NVRAM to resolve this issue. Please follow the steps given below:
1. Press the "Menu" button to escape "Photo Mode."
2. Press the "Down Arrow" until the screen shows "Print Test Page."
3. Press the "Up-Arrow" and "Menu" Buttons at the same time.
4. Press the down arrow until the LCD displays "Clean NVRAM."
5. Press "Select" The LCD should display "Success" or "Failed"

Lexmark x3330 Error message

Please remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Please snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier.

Next, try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Turn off power.
2. Press and hold the "Black Copy" and the "Power" buttons at the same time. Continue holding then until the screen displays "Mfg Menus Enabled."
3. Press the "Menu"(--->) button 2 times.
4. Screen will read "LCD Button Test," press "(-)" button 2 times.
5. Screen will read "Single Test Page," press the "Menu" button once.

You should see text followed by a thick 1-inch black bar. Under this bar, should be a process gray bar about a 1/2-inch thick. Below this line should be a set of railroad like bars of cyan, magenta, and yellow.

Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. Hi Seng, Run a self test from the printers control panel. 1. Press the printer?s ON LINE button to take the printer offline. 2. Press the Control Panel MENU button until TEST MENU appears on the display. 3. Press ITEM until SELF TEST appears on the display. 4. Press ENTER. The Self-Test will print. 5. Press ON LINE to return the printer to the online state. If it prints than you have a software issue if not it's hardware. For Software Check the Density Settings. Make sure it's not set too light. Also try printing from another app, maybe you have a corrupt print job. If you have a hardware issue come back here and I'll help you sort through those. Let me know, Dude
