Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a hp 24 h2408w monitor. I switch computer and when I booted the computer the monitor said Desact.monitor. I try to put it in quickview for adjustments by pushing the button on the bottom that now it went into some sort of test mode. In a full screen it goes from green to blue to white to red to black, over and over. This is all the monitor will do. It does not matter on if it hook to a computer or not. This is all that it does. Monitor was shipped with poor packaging and was banged around on transit. Monitor does not see a video signal and stays blank on boot up. Light goes from green to amber. Have tried on 3 different...

Well you have confirmed the monitor is the problem, the main board in the back of the screen is probably cracked and not salvageable and is a right off, the people who shipped it must have insured the package which you can put a claim on, and I would encourage you to do that.

Signal is out of range

You either have a bad VGA cable or your monitor is not compatible with your computer's video card output. Try another cable from a working system and switch monitors with a working system to determine the problem item. Incompatible monitor does not mean a bad monitor. It just doesn't have the capabilities need to work with that particular computer. Sometimes happens with really old monitors and new computers. You might also try downsizing your video output to a lower resolution that the monitor may be capable of handling.

Computer monitor becomes distorted after boot up.

Download and install the correct driver for the monito as well as the deiver for your video card, if the video is onboard, you may need the motherboard and AGP driver as well.
You will probably need to boot in Safemode to do this.
Good Luck.
