I don't know how to fix your problem but I can give you some places to check. If you haven't had your ds for very long you should probably try taking it back to the store. Or you could call or visit online the nintendo customer service. Their number is 1-800-255-3700. Just go to nintendo.com and go to customer service. NOTE: the customer service numbers are also listed in the ds Instruction book. I hope this helped!

I go to play on my r4 and half and hour through it freezes up

r4 is the cheapest card you can buy they are junk or at least all the ones Ive seen try jamming a toothpick into between the r4 adapter and the ds or try to reformat your memory card maybe something was corrupted on transfer and never have the card full about 60 to 80 percent at most
i hope this helps you and please vote for me also check out the ds-two adapter

Turn off your DS, grab a philips screw driver, pull out the battery in the case, and clean it WITHOUT WATER OR LIQUIDS. Then put it back in.

Nintendo ds lite

Clean the battery contacts and the DS pins with alcohol and toilet paper or qtip. Do the same with the game contacts and the slot pins taking care not to broke them.

If using a flashcart then you have a defective unit.

My Nintendo DS Lite keeps freezing. It will play for a bit then freeze. When I turn the power off then play it, but then freezes again! Any answers?

Try this as it will restore the DS to factory settings.

Remove the battery cover off the back of the unit. (One small Philips screw.)

Remove the battery.

Leave the system without the battery for 10-15 minutes.

Replace the battery.

Re-install the battery cover.

Ds lite

You never want to play the DS while it's charging, if constsntly persisted it can cause a form of battery leak.

IMPORTANT: Don't charge the DS until it dies on you completely!

When charging the DS the system will display a red light to show it's at its lowest energy, the time it takes to fully charge a DS can take up to 2-3 hours. In the second hour of charging the light will appear green but you don't want to disturb it until the light goes off. ( showing it's energy is full )
