Office 2007 Install Problems

I'm trying to install Office Pro 2007. It installed once and everything was fine until I needed to add a feature using add/remove programs and it stopped working. I have tried everything possible to put it back on my pc. I'm using Office xp now. When it starts to install after a few minutes I get a message about the program had and error installing and that's it. About all that gets installed is the Office 12 directory and some registry entries. I tryed downloading the free trial of Office 2007 and the install problem went the same way. Help!

I think you are right. I have tried everything. There was an option to remove or keep previous versions of Office when starting the office 2007 install. But once again MS has made a big mess out of what should be a simple install. I hate to have to go through all those office xp updates if it doesnt work, but I want to try anyway.
    Thanks!

Too bad! I uninstalled all of Office XP and did a restart, I even deleted all the office folders before installing Office 2007 Pro and it stopped installing about 3 minutes into the process.
I got a message "Office Professional Plus 2007 encountered an error during setup" and thats it. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont have microsoft word in my program

Hi,

You can add Word to your existing MS office by going to Control Panel->Add Remove Programs. Select the MS office Professional 2007 then click the change button. Install the Word program by clicking the dropdown arrow besides the MS Word and selecting Install on first use. If you have the MS office CD, you can run the autorun and try to install word from there.

If you click Choose detailed installation options for each application on theChoose which applications for setup to install page, and then click Next, the feature tree appears on the Choose installation options for all Office applications and tools page. Because Office Setup detects that you are using Terminal Services, the only installation states that are available are Not Available and Run from My Computer. By default, some features are set to Not Available. Do not change the installation states of these features to Run from My Computer, because you may experience problems with the Office programs that use these features.

Warning By default, some features are set to Not Available to make sure that there is optimum performance in a Terminal Server environment, including the elimination of unexpected errors. Do not change the installation states of these features to Run from My Computer.

Note If your Office source location is an administrative installation, Run from Networkis also displayed as an installation state.
  11. On the Begin installation page, click Install.
  12. When you receive a message that the installation completed successfully, click OK, clickNext, and then click Finish.

Look in the Add/Remove programs applet of he Windows Control Panel to see if you have two copies of Office installed. If so, you may want to remove both and re-install the Pro copy only. If this is an upgrade you may need the original install media to prrove you are upgrading legitimately. You may also want to first try to make a "change" using setup to your existing copy if there is only one to add the application(s) you want from the upgrade.

No Has Been Able To Solve This Office 2007 Pro Problem, Can You?

Hi,
The problem is the feature you tried istalling might have corrupted the OS. What you can try doing is create new user account first , restart your computer into the new user computer and then try installing. If the same still doesnot work , then my friend the only solution would be to reinstall windows xp and then put office 2007.

Thanks

Office 2007 Install Problems

It can be very aggravating to reinstall Office; you probably need to use the free removal tool that Microsoft provides for situations like yours. It may have nothing to do with Office 2007 and everything to do with whatever else you added via Add/Remove Programs. My best advice is patience; Office12 is huge, and takes a long time to put all its junk in there; Microsoft will walk you through it if you have patience with their tech support folks and time to wait on hold to reach someone. The good news is they get paid to sit with frustrated folks like you. If you can be more sprcific what the error message(s) say(s) that will help whomever could help you get to the root cause of your issue(s).
