I recommend that you get stronger hose barbs, the ones that thread into the pump where your hoses hook up. I can't see what you've got going on but, it sounds like the clamps may be crushing the barbs. If you can get, they make them, heavy duty plastic, maybe even brass barbs, they won't get crushed and, you can even double clamp your hoses to keep them from leaking. You may even want to go with a different kind of hose.
