the color is off color since I had the monitor the last two years; it goes on for only a few minutes but goes back to black cursor instead of a red cursor.

I can not figure out what you are talking about please be more specific, is it the monitor or the cursor or the color of something else? remember I am not there in front out the monitor. nore in your home.

If your color is messed up on your display also then I think you need a new monitor. Why don't you try using a monitor that you know works and see if you have the same problem. Then let us know the results or the answer so we can have a little more to work with.
