Lenses

posted by MunsonGTA on Feb 18, 2007

I'm replacing the lenses on a sony KP-51WS510 rear projection tv. I need to know in what order do the lenses go into the frame. I put the plastic clear screen all the way in the front, the thick plastic looking screen with the swirls behind it, and then the black looking thin screen behind that. The image on the tv when turned on is not correct. Can anybody tell me the proper order to install the lenses?

The screen with the "swirls" on it is the fresnel lens and that is the one that goes in back then the lenticular lens goes next (it has the feel of a grid to it). Then the screen proetector goes on the very front. The fresnel lens only works installed one way. On Sony TV's look for the orange tag with the part number on it and put that to the lower right facing outword and usually 99% of the time this is how they go back in.
