Question about Dynex DX-E401 Router
For about 10 or 15 times the price, we can sell you a router that does exactly what you ask and it will work for you and about 300 of your closest friends at the same time :-)
Even though your instructions say you and allow or DENY access to the router, nothing shows on the DENY part, except if you know the MAC address or IP in advance. A different router would do what you want, it would depend on how much you're willing to pay.
There is a software solution that requires a PC running the application (PublicIP at www.publicip.net) and there is a "burn-your-own" router mod to a Linksys router that lets you do this, or the above mentioned commercial applications from Valuepoint, Netopia and the like.
If you still want to do the "let me see what I can do" trial, log into your present router and go to filters. With the manual and help files, you can construct domain blocks that allow a specific site and deny all others. Your poor man's filter :-).
I guess you already have a manual, but here's a link if you need one. Your description is on page 29 for domain blocking issues.
