My GoldStar Air Conditioner Model WG5005 makes a watery sound and splats of water shoots out. What does that mean?

It makes a watery sound and water splats out while it is running. I take it out the window and drain the water out, but sooner or later it does it again.

Hello, this could either be a clogged drain if the unit has one, or the unit is not tilted back enough in the window if the unit does not have a drain.

SOURCE: Drain Hole for Frigidaire Window Air Conditioner

Leave it alone. DO NOT attempt to create a drain. As long as a window A/C unit is installed properly, (angled slightly down toward the rear) it will drain excess water over the rear lower lip of the unit should it get that high. Many models use some of the collected water/condensation. It gets lifted up by the fan blades to cool the coil.

SOURCE: I have a Maytag window air conditioner that is leaking out front

The unit has to lean backward to let the water run out. It sounds like it is too level or leaning forward too much. There should be an adjusting screw in back that you can lower and it should work fine.

Doe's the temp reach the set point? If not then it will run until it doe's. If you set the stat warmer and the fan keeps running after compressor shuts off check to make sure it is in power saver mode. Most AC units keep more even temp when fan is left on.

My goldstar window air conditioner keeps spitting water out of the vents and making a loud noise, what is it? Please.

Hello
Could be the drain hole is clogged up outside.
Its usually located on the bottom r h side.Needs to be unclogged.Use a thin piece of wire or compressed air or even a good blast of water to fix it.

My window air conditioner is making very loud noises and it is not dripping water outside

No condensation means no freon flow in condensor which sounds like bad compressor which would account for the noise. Replacement would probably be most economical way to remedy.

GoldStar model GWHD5000

Make sure that the unit is properly mounted in the opening (I take it it's in a window) and that it is level or at least not tipping inward as in the outside being higher than the inside. If unsure about how to mount it properly, consult your owners manual. Your installation should be reasonably close to the illustrations.
