My dell 2005fpw screen has gone blank and power button is flashing green. The monitor is connected to my laptop via a docking station.

A flashing green is usually a power supply failure on the main board of the LCD and a protective shut down circuit kicks in when the voltages are not correct at the check sum.
This also depending on the circuit configuration that the monitor is in standby mode. Your user manual can give you this information.
This also may be the video card itself or a loose cable.
Check the monitor cable to see if it is secured.
Also check you resolution settings on the PC. This procedure will require you to connect another monitor to the pc to see if it will bring a signal.
If a signal is visible then the video card is ok.
If not then you will have to check the video driver for the video graphic display card and or replace the card.

Monitor went blank and started to make a low buzzing sound

Check the input selector and make sure issue occurs on both input 1 and input 2 video connections.
If it does, there are no user serviceable items inside the Monitor and you will need to have the monitor serviced if you want it fixed. Most likely failure is the flyback transformer.
NOTE: you can get a replacement 22 In LCD monitor for about $150, repair to the P1110 will likely cost more.

Dell P1110

Hi, The part where you see some color bars and blinking green led is what we call MONITOR SELF TEST. A diagnostic pattern consisting of four colors (red, green, blue and white) appears, and the LED flashes slowly. this happens when signal cable from the monitor is disconnected from the tower and leaving the power chord for the monitor plugged in. If the monitor works properly on a different computer. then its a problem with the computer's video card sending out signal. im 85% sure that its a problem with your video card.
