to subscribe to pocket data you need to call your operator's customer care and ask then to activate gprs on your sim card. most of the operator provide 3 or 4 types gprs pack. if you are airtel user then dial *567# and choose your plan. after gprs activation ask them for gprs setting.(for airtel send text MO to 543210) set recieved setting as default setting and enjoy browsing on your mobile.
To access this service you must have some setting on your mobile, which connects you to Airtel server for Internet and provides a authentication. To get the setting directly to your mobile just SMS "MO" (Withot Quotes) to 2567 [Toll Free]. Within few Minutes [or sometimes Hours] you will get those setting to your mobile.
Airtel will send those "Airtel Live" and "Airtel GPRS" [Mobile office] and "Airtel MMS" setting to your mobile free of cost in form of SMS, you need to save them and activate any of the service to use it.
To activate the Airtel GPRS [i.e. Mobile office] Just send "GPRSACT" (Withot Quotes) to 511[Toll Free]. Within 4Hrs your Airtel GPRS will be activated. To deactivate it send "GPRSDEACT" (Withot Quotes) to 511 [Toll Free] and your service will be deactivated within 4Hrs. To use this service you must have balance of 15Rs+. and it will charge you 15Rs/Day.
To activate the Airtel LIVE Just send "LIVEACT" (Withot Quotes) to 511[Toll Free]. Within 4Hrs your Airtel LIVE will be activated. To deactivate it send "LIVEDEACT" (Withot Quotes) to 511 [Toll Free] and your service will be deactivated within 4Hrs. Same for this service, to use this service you must have balance of 15Rs+. and there is NO CHARGE for activating this service, You will be charged per KB you download.
IN MY OPNION AIRTEL IS USER FRIENDLY OPERATAR. TO ACTIVATE GPRS ON AIRTEL DIAL *567#. THEN A MENU WILL APPEAR WHICH SHOWS ALL INTERNET PACK AVAILABLE. CHOOSE ONE YOU LIKE MOST I RECOMEND YOU TO CHOOSE VALUE RS 18 PACK. IT GIVES 200MB DATA FOR 3 DAYS. FOR GPRS SETTING SEND MO TO 543210 AND SAVE IT AS A DEFAULT SETTING. ENJOY
Are you using AirTel as your service provider? They have three ways to connect to the net. Airtel Live, Airtel MMS and mobile office. Out of these Mobile Office is the one that you should be using as that is the cheapest. Other two are very expensive. And you get it only when you get GPRS activated on your number.
You are getting error because your GPRS may not be activated on the number.
are you sure not working at all nokia n-series? try other n-series phone first, my first opinion is that your n72 is 'locked' (or co-branding with an operator) let's say for example 'indiacell' operator.now u also have to try other simcard from other operator to your n72, does the same thing occur? if it does, it means ur phone is locked. u have to unlocked it (i think that would be illegal, but everybody does it)
Ask the place where you buy it, what operator does it locked up with, try search a technician near your place, and flash it with unlocked software. then you can use it with any card. good luck
