Question about Philips Magnavox DVD/VCR Dual Player
Make sure your are using the correct connections.
Your deck and your TV will probably both composite and component inputs and outputs. They are easy to confuse.
You might be sending a composite output into a component input. That could result in a monochrome picture.
If you are using a S-video cable. The black and white part of the picture (luma) and the color part of the picture (chroma) are carried on different lines. If the chroma signal is not getting through, you will get a black and white picture.

Please set your TV on Auto Color system to get colors on VHS and DVD.
