Question about Dryers
I just got a dryer, model #LDE7334ACE. I had to replace the plug so it would work at my new house but now I don't know how to connect the wires.
You should have a power cord that matches the 3 or 4 prong wall receptacle and it's pretty straight forward on how to connect. First off..position the dryer in a place that yuou can gain access to the back of the dryer.. Next, locate the passthru opening for where the new cord goes thru the dryer.. You should have or get the appropriate cable clamp feedthru for passing that cord thru and into the dryer. The clamp prevents you from pulling the wires free from their terminations inside the dryer so don't omit this part of it..
Next, remove the access cover over the terminal block that is inside the dryer and where the power cord is attached. You should see at least 3 terminals and maybe 4.. You should see a Red, White, Black and/or Green double row terminal strip. Attach the red tagged end of your power cord to the red terminal block screw, white to white, black to black.. If you don't have a green one.. that is earth ground and you can secure that to the nearest frame member screw that is unpainted.. If you do have a green terminal for groud, attach it to that one. Make sure all the screws are fairly tight. Make sure the cable clamp is tight and holding the cord from being moved. Then plug it into the mating wall receptacle. I would encourage you to cycle the dryer for a few minutes without clothing in it or the vent attached to verify it heats up and everything works properly. Then reposition it back into its final location, level accordingly and attach the vent duct ..
Hope this helps..
