Question about Motorola Mobility V365 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

I have a Motorola V365 phone. The phone was dropped several months back and broke a portion of the cover that holds the hinge in place on the flip portion. The phone has continued to work fine. This past week while using the phone, the flip portion came completely off. It appears that there is some type of thin connecting cable on the left side hinge point and a spring loaded pin on the right side. Now the LCD Screen does not come on, but the phone does power up and down. I tried to download my numbers to my computer by way of the Motorola phone tools CD, but unsuccessful. Can this be fixed, so I can retrieve my numbers to my PC?

Your best bet is to take it to your cell phone service provider to see if they can retrieve that information. If you are on Verizon, they offer the backup assistant to retain information like this and to be able to transfer that information onto other replacement phones. The memory in your phone is probably OK and that is where your contact information is located so they should be able to recover that. The small ribbon cable that broke provides power and data to the display and should not affect your stored data. If that cable has a short across it, it may impact your ability to get your data on your own.. Good Luck

Rick

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Motorola w845 quantico disassembly

I have never done a w845 quantico but have done several V860 barrage phones in my time. Both of these phones have a similar design. On the barrage if you flip the screen open, on the inside of the flip there are 6 screws, undo those screws and place where you will not loose, then the top part will separate with just a little nudging (front cover from back) the earpiece in the barrage is in a small compartment and has two contacts (no screws just some adhesive) remove and replace, clip the front back together and replace screws. Most important part is to make sure you do not damage the LCD cable in the hinges of the phone.

well pop the back off ,remove the battery.then there are 2 screws that hold the modem in place.remove them and very carefully pry the modem off.there are 2 plastic tabs near the bottom of the phone 1 on each side.careful or they will break.`then there are 4 screws on each side of the screen, when opened..they are under little rubber pucks.remove them and separate the 2 half's..Unplug the flex cable from the screen and carefully remove the screen and camera assembly.be carefully not to tear off the flex cables that hold the 3 buttons on the screen in..then if you'll turn the phone back over.where the battery goes in on the hinge .you'll see another screw.remove that and flip the phone over again.carefully pop the chrome hinge pin out.then you'll be able to separate the 2 half's.then there are 6 little metal tabs that hold the keyboard in place.pry them up and carefully remove the keyboard and flex cable.careful around the hinge, where the flex cable runs threw.
now moving on to the modem, on the bottom you'll see 2 little plastic tabs carefully open them and remove the brass retaining wire and the modem will then come out..get your new covers and reverse this process and you'll be good to go.

I dropped my ic502 now the screen is dark can i swap the flip portion from another ic502 with mine

Yes you can, but its not an easy repair.
There is a delicate data ribbon that joins upper and lower sections of handset and is partially contained in the hinge assembly.

The flip top the razr completely broke off.

yes, Depeding on where you are, its probabely cheaper at a repair store than sending back to Motorola for repair. You probably need at least 3 parts. The bottom honged part that holds the keypad. Plus the main flex cable and the chrome hinge. However If you are not experined with this, it will be kind of hard for you to repair

Motorola v365

ronninny & ruritania,
Hi this problem is actually due to the software problem of v365 and it occurs to many..luckily only few users dont face this problem in v365 so the Solution is may be you can approach a Motorola service centre and ask them to re-install the phones software or update it!..please take care to save your contacts and other files which you have in phone memory before that!..thank you!!..
