Your computer almost certainly came with "system restore" discs or a reinstallable copy of Windows.
The first will wipe out your hard drive so it looks just the way it did when it came out of the factory. The second will give you an option to reformat during the installation process.
Either option will wipe out all of the Windows updates you've installed, just as it will wipe out all of your critical documents, pictures, music and everything else. Make backup copies of everything you might possibly want before proceeding.
