Question about Panasonic PT-53WX52 53" Rear Projection Television
I was watching my tv and it just turned off, when I tried to turn it back on the red power button on the tv started blinking. So I unplugged my tv, and tried again, the tv took longer than usual to turn on and as soon as the picture came on the tv turned off again, and the red button started blinking. So in order for the tv to come on at all you have to unplug it and plug it back in, power on front of tv or on remote, tv comes on and as soon as the picture comes on the tv goes back off. I would appreciate it a great deal if someone knows whats wrong or has any suggestions thank you.
how did the repair go, and is it worth the $24 bucks to download the service manual?

The blinking light tells you what is wrong with the circuit. If it blinks 3 times it is the convergence amplifiler. I had this problem and tried to fix it myself and I don't think that I have it connected good enough. I know this is the problem with mine. I will let you know if this fixes that. Let me see what 5 blinking lites mean. I will tell you what each blink means from the repair manual, 1 blink is +140 circuit, 2 blinks is Low DC, 3 blinks is convergence, 4 blinks is HHS, 5 blinks is IC4011, 6 blinks is IC4018. I hope this helps. You can get a repair manual at servicemanuals.com it really helped me. I will let you know how my repair goes. I hope this helps. Rick

The unit is going in to shutdown. Sounds like you have a short in the high voltage section.
