If it wont scan anything, you possibly have a broken tuner. On some models you can change the tuner yourself , on others you will need to send back the unit for repair.
If its build in then forget about the " diy" repair, however if you see 2 screws (each one on the left and right side of the cable input) you can take the faulty tuner out, and replace it with a new one.
Is tv being used in the av modes if so tuning menu will not show. Possible cause could be external units like dvd player are taking control . Unplug all external unit and try menu again
I have the same tv, has started to give out a few seconds of black screen on the odd occasion whilst watching-might b going the same way.. the tv repair bods might b your only solution if u dont know any electrician that could give it a test
Have you done a channel search on both tv sources(atv and dtv). most new tv's will automatically start will "New Install". If you havent had a digital installed recently then this could the problem. set top boxes and TV's will pick up the signal ok but others wont.
Sorry to say no it wont not unless the Tv set manuel says it has a Duel Freeview feed , you have to get another freeview box for the recorder .
besides If you used the freview in the tv 1 , the tv would have to be on when you wanted to record ?. and 2 you couldnt watch another channel whilst recording another .. only 1 tuner ?. also you could only record the program you had on .at the time no timer facility .
People are still used to the Old system of VHs and the fact that all videos had tuners built in so you could watch and record .. It will come and indeed some more modern DVD recorder have freeview built in again sorry but thats the facts , and dont forget if you want the pay per view channels on free view your going to need a tuner with a pay card port ...
